Yesterday's mostly normal day...finally

3/27 AMPS 159,+2.5 181,+4 86,+7 136,+9 148,PMPS 143,+3 115,+5 99,+7.5 138

Now that China's back to "normal" and has shaken off that Simbadol injection, it looks like she's not going to hold this reduction:(

I'm really not surprised though....would have been totally shocked if she had been able to hold a drop of .5 unit so soon....but I'm not giving up that after she has a little more time to finish up healing, she may just earn (and hold) some reductions!

At this point though, it's looking like this one may be a "failed reduction" and we'll need to go back up ..will see how I feel about it at PMPS time

How about this crazy weather? We had a freeze warning and snow showers last night...and it's 66 degrees already today:confused:o_O

If variety is the spice of life, we're making some pretty powerful curry!

Yikes. I missed most of the excitement. Are you sure she isn't just bouncing, though? Her pancreas has been through some exciting times recently. Maybe it just woke up and said "Whoa! Uh uh no way."

Are you sure she isn't just bouncing, though?

She really hasn't been low enough in the last few cycles to set off a bounce...and since she's spent so much time in "good" numbers, it really takes a pretty low low to get much of a bounce from her at all (she used to bounce into the 400's....now IF she bounces, it's usually a mid/high blue number and she clears it in 1 cycle)

Of course so many things have been crazy lately, anything is possible!! :arghh:

I think I'd give it another day. It's only been three cycles on this dose. Put some lotion on that itchy trigger finger and dig out your patience pants.

China, the lagoon could use the presence of its deputy Mistress! Better get busy.

I know, I know...LOL

I'm just not sure if I'd consider this more of a "failed reduction" (where you don't wait any particular number of cycles before going back to the last "good" dose) or I just need to get a new waistband for my patience pants

I'd call it a failed reduction. In the last six cycles she has some 2.75 and 2.5 depot in there and she's still not normal China green. Good to hear she's feeling better so you could feed HC in case she wants to take the increase as a challenge. ;)

So, how many cycles do we give to know whether it is a failed reduction?

With failed reductions, you just watch the numbers after you reduce....if they don't get back into the numbers you want them in, you don't have to hold it any particular length of time

Now IF you reduce due to a low number and they bounce high, it's important to wait for the bounce to clear first (up to 6 cycles but doesn't have to be 6 cycles)....but once you're sure they've cleared the bounce, if they aren't getting where you want them, it's a failed reduction

Knowing how to spot the difference between a failed reduction and that they just haven't cleared the bounce just takes experience in reading spreadsheets.

Since China never really "bounced" from her lows (which were probably due to not eating as well and the crazy side effects of that shot) and her numbers are trending up anyway, that's why I thought it was a failed reduction

Thanks for explaining that.

Well, I couldn't tell you for sure if I gave 2.5 or 2.75 tonight (but I think it was 2.5)....I remember thinking of going back to 2.5 tonight, but when I was filling the syringe, my "auto-pilot" might have kicked in since I was so used to doing the 2.75

Guess we'll just see how it goes and go from there!

I'm trying Rusty...but mama holds the syringe!!
