At the lagoon early this a.m. (amps 97) My cycles seem to be pretty flat. I know that this is what we want to see; but I'm wondering if my insulin is toast. There are no thingies in it, and I have been using it going on 4 mos. The insulin seems to be working because his #'s at nadir are usually lower. However, the cycle is flat.
Could the insulin be losing potency, and if so how can my Mom tell?
    Please look at my SS.
If the insulin is losing potency, then Mr. P is working on his own.
    Advice and Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Paula,
I think Michael's cycles are close to perfect. I wouldn't change a thing right now. Are you using the vial or the pen? If the pen, it must be almost empty and you would have to start a new pen in any event. If the vial, it's probably not toast, since it is producing good results. I don't know the answer to your question about whether Michael's pancreas is working on it's own in order to compensate for a possible loss of potency of the insulin. I guess it's possible. But I don't see in Michael's SS that there is any reason to believe that the insulin isn't working well. Those nice, pretty flat, cycles are what we all strive for.

    Hugs and scritches,

It actually looks to me like if he stays normal today and tonight he is ready for a reduction due to a week of normal numbers unless I am missing something. :) I don't know the answer as to whether it's his pancreas or the insulin.

I agree Michael is looking really good lately. I think if the insulin was bad his numbers would look really wonky.

I can't stay awake after +2. If i make myself I'm really tired and I can't see or walk very well.
That's all due to the result of my aneurysms. I'll try.:)

Paula, I don't think you should even think about "trying". Your own health is so important. Michael's numbers are very good and that's great.
