Thank you :) She's doing well - I just wish she hadn't suddenly taken against being tested. She was so good most days all this time, but the last few days she's been really moody about it. I know she thinks she's over needing the tests, but it would be nice if I could get the ones I need without having to fight with her to get her to keep still. I'm really hoping now that she'll be done with this dose soon (anti jinx) so that I can cut down the number she needs every day. What she's doing now is the typical Rosa behavior I expected from her at the start which is a good thing in most ways - just difficult when I can't just 'do it later' because she's not in the mood for a test right now!

Look at those numbers! Wheeeeeee.

Sorry she's fussing about the testing. Polly's a lot less receptive to the pokies now, too. Guess the freeze dried chicken pieces aren't so attractive anymore!!!

Great day for Rosa! I started experimenting with Orijen treats with Noodle and shes NUTS about them. She was starting to get fussy sometimes with testing even with Pure Bites, but with these she is so preoccupied I can get a paw test done fast. They're a bit expensive (haven't figured out if they end up being pricier than Pure Bites), but as a test-only treat they're working pretty well. Perfectly kitty bite sized & easy to break up, too.

Vyktor never once complained about a test while he was on the juice and our record was 19 tests in one cycle  but after he came off it he was annoyed about them for a while - maybe Rosa is just getting a little ahead of herself ;)

She's had a good day with her numbers so far! :D

I might have to try some of the Orijen treats - she's not a massive fan of most treats as she usually prefers extra attention and cuddles instead. But I'm going to have to do something - I can't just stop the tests!!

That's the thing I don't understand with her - she's getting less tests now most days than she was a week or so ago, but she's being much naughtier about them. I think you might be right and she's trying to get ahead of herself - she never has been very patient...she's always moving around. It's a good sign in a lot of ways because it proves she's feeling back to normal, and she'll still sit for the test (with a fair amount of wriggling when she thinks she can get away with it). She just hides, or runs away when she sees the test kit come out even though she knows it means treats and attention. And she's been really quite angry with Michael the last few days - unless I'm holding her, she hisses every time he goes anywhere near her even when it's not close to a test time. She'll get over herself though - for all that she's angry she doesn't bite or scratch...it's still all noise with her (she thinks she's big and scary when she hisses of course, so let's not tell her we'd be more scared if she started biting people ;) ) !!

:D:D:D:D

Go Rosa, Go! What a gorgeous AM cycle! Fingers crossed that she surfs right on through the PM. Is there a way you can change her kit container or change up the routine a little bit? I'm wondering if she had an ouchie pokie or felt that she was mishandled and is associating the kit with bad stuff? Break the negative association with the test kit to make things a little easier on everyone? On the other hand, her protesting could mean that she knows how close she is to being done with this routine.:D

I gave punkin cooked chicken breast for treats - that was before everyone jumped on the freeze dried meat bandwagon, LOL. Cooked it, cut in 1/2" dice, froze most of it and kept out a couple of tablespoons in the fridge. You might try that and give her one right before you test and another bite right after. Maybe that would make her happy.

In the meantime GO ROSA GO! What a perfect day for her!

It would be great if she'd surf for me tonight - having to get up part way through what was already going to be less sleep than is ideal the last 2 nights has had me just about falling asleep at work any time I'm doing something even slightly repetitive!!

I did buy some no additive roast beef from the deli today - it's really for me to be able to take a sandwich to work with me, but I might break up a couple of slices of that for her as there's definitely no sugar or any other bad stuff added to it. And I did buy more than I needed knowing the cats would all swarm the moment I opened the package!! It's one of the few things she does really like - maybe if she's eating a piece of that when I do the test she might wriggle a bit less. She's not helping herself really - the number of times I've got a really good drop of blood and then she's wiped it on herself or on my arm because she's wriggled around at the wrong moment!!

I still think she's just not that impressed with anyone but me testing her. She's MY cat and she wants to make sure everyone knows it. I get the feeling she thinks I've betrayed her by leaving her with Michael during the day - she's very affectionate with him usually, but she just doesn't want him testing her. I watched him do a test yesterday to make sure he's not doing anything different from the way I do it, but he's doing everything right. It's possible she's had a pokie that hurt a bit more than usual at some point, but I think she's really just back to being Rosa - she never has been good with any sort of medical intervention and she surprised me by being good about the testing until the last few days. I could put the kit in something other than the case it came with - maybe if she doesn't see it coming, I won't have to chase her round the house to catch her for a test though in some ways, she actually seems to enjoy being able to make me chase after her - probably because she's feeling well enough to see it as some sort of game! ;)

hahahaha well, i can hear her now with you chasing her "WAHOO the games afoot!" :woot:

Do you know the trick about scraping the blood off on your fingernail and then testing from there? It's a good one - the disadvantage is that you do want to be able to staunch the poke by applying pressure so it doesn't bruise, and if you're busy with your fingernail that might be tough. But keep in it mind as an option - it's worked for us a couple of times.

Haha :) I think that's about where she is with being chased. She always did like to play games. :D

I have tried getting the blood off with my fingernail - unfortunately, if she can possibly manage it, she's already wiped it off on her own fur or somewhere on either my arm or my clothes while I'm trying to get to it - she's fast when she's feeling well so it works sometimes, but it's not guaranteed with this one. Trouble always was her middle name! ;)

It's the longest she's gone in all green yet - I kept expecting a blue at some point today, but so far so good! :D

I think this cat's forgotten that I will actually die if I never get any sleep because she heads lower at bedtime every night. :P

I'd like another 10 points on her number at this time of night really...no way I can leave her overnight at this point! Other than that, yes she's had a great day! :)
