Well, now we wait for bloodwork results...not surprised by the PMPS considering the 2 hour drive, all the poking and prodding and being stabbed for bloodwork twice

Vet said her teeth were definitely bad, so we have the dental tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday. She looked her over really good and said she doesn't feel anything bad (except for a lot of fat!) and China purred the whole time, so even when she was manipulating her legs/hips, she didn't act like any of it hurt her.

She's not sure why China is all the sudden looking for "steps" when she jumps down from things, but said the extra weight she's carrying isn't helping (I knew that). I started taking her out this week when it was nice to try to get her a little extra exercise (lost 4 ounces) but I'm going to have to really start cutting back on her food I think, plus adding the exercise. I've already reduced her food once, but instead of losing weight, she's gained more!

Sent off the bloodwork for the senior blood panel and an extra test off to IDEXX for the SDMA ( I think the vet thinks I'm a little crazy for wanting the SDMA but since I was willing to pay for it, she humored me) Cost an extra $30 on top of the regular senior blood panel

China didn't have enough urine in her bladder to do a cytocentesis, especially through all the "extra fluffiness", so we were sent home with a "home collection kit"....We'll work on that tomorrow maybe. I'm going to leave her alone tonight to relax

Of course she just had to say that 50 is too low and I shouldn't be letting her get that low (when I told her she had been running between 50-120 most of the time until lately), so I once again reminded her we used a human meter.....there was a vet student doing an internship there today too and I'm sure that once I was gone, they probably discussed how I was "letting her go too low"....You know, I'd think the fact that we're almost 3 years into this dance and she's still here proves something!!

Anyway, here's hoping China comes down some tonight...No matter what the excuse, I really hate those stinky pinkies!!

Hopefully we'll have the bloodwork back by Wednesday and if it looks OK, we're on for the dental next week

Sending vines for good blood work results and that China will have her dental.

Yo Deputy China, Good luck with your blood test results. And take care of your teeth!

Hi Chris, Next time don't tell the vet China's numbers. Just say that she had been doing well until very recently. You can move away from the wall now!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Yuck on the vetty visit numbers! But I'm glad you have some validation for doing the dental, or at least spending the money on it. Good luck with the home collection.

I'm with Ella on the numbers - I say "mostly under renal threshold" and leave it at that.

Very frustrating about the "too low" business. Maybe you should add 30 points to all her numbers when you report them. Then everyone will be happy. :P

Looks like she is already nicely on her way down from the pinks. I hope tomorrow will be even better!

Just seeing this--big hugs for you and China--vet visits are stressful (love the action figure)
Wanted to tell you I got the wild boar (as well as 8000 other freeze dried things) and Rico LOVES them--Dre the snot has not interest:stop:
I bet China will feel really fantastic after a dental:) I am too scared to get Dre one with his kidneys etc..(age)
