Good morning

Willow was a nice blue at 2:45am when I woke up and checked her. She was having a really hard time breathing. I had to use both inhalers on her so she could breath. She decided she was now hungry and started eating our safety food I leave out for her at night. Clearly this affected her numbers.

I'll be calling the new vet today to get the name of the drug she said caused Willows problem and post what she said.

Sending healing vines and prayers for Willows breathing. It is awful when they can't breath good.

Hi

I posted the other day about our new vet visit. I wanted a second opinion on her asthma.
We had all of Willows records shipped over to the new vet. The new vet is a cat clinic only and looks like a kitty resort over being a vets office.
While talking to the new vet and explaining everything since we adopted Willow, the vet said the old vet most likely caused her to have diabetes. I just got off the phone with the new vet to ask her how and why she thought this. She said when we first took Willow into the old vet they treated her scabs and skin condition with a steroid (depometro) she said a side affect is it can cause diabetes in felines. While some cats will revert back to normal others won't.
She said she noticed this drug being used in our records.

unfortunately asthma is treated with steroids. Especially in duress....
Hi
The vet said with the inhaler it should not be a problem. I was very concerned about using it on her.
The steroids that was used on her in the beginning from what Im told has a side affect of causing debities. Not all cats will be affected this way. I guess an older cat could be affected worst over a young cat.

The inhaler goes directly to the lungs where the steroid goes into the blood stream. How is Willows breathing today

She is much better
She had a bad attack last night. As long as I don't forget to give her the one inhaler she is good all night.
