I’m so happy to see this. Tonight is time to move him to 6u.

At 6u, we typically recommend you get him tested for a high dose condition like acromegaly or IAA. It’s possible with him, because he’s been at such high numbers such a long time, that he has some major glucose toxicity but it’s also worthwhile to have him checked because we do have some other tricks up our sleeves to help high dose cats.

Here’s the info for acro testing: https://www.animalhealth.msu.edu/Bin/Catalog/Catalog_Test.exe?Action=Print&ID=1401
Here’s the info for IAA testing: https://www.animalhealth.msu.edu/Bin/Catalog/Catalog_Test.exe?Action=Print&ID=1494

I'll do that. Will the vet go along with that and do they send it in?

The vet will have to draw the blood per the requirements of MSU and they should send it in. I thought I remembered you saying that at one time, one of the vets mentioned testing for high dose conditions?

At any rate, you are the client and you can take them the info from the Acro/IAA forum on this board. Seems to me if you are willing to pay it, they should do it or I’d find another vet. :)

Ok, Biscuits.....keep it going with everything under HI for a day!!!! Good luck with the new dose.
