With a 172 AMPS, I retested within a minute or two and got 165, so it was correct.

Any ideas why Liz is so high in the morning? She was given a full can of FF at 10:30pm and ate the entire thing during the night as she always does.

Do you think the feeding has something to do with it? She may eat that can within an hour, or she may spread it out during the night. I will be getting a timed feeder for night as has been suggested by Wendy and others.

She has been getting one large drop (at the zero line) 2 x a day. When does one consider a dose increase?

No dosing advice from me. This is her first test that's not in normal numbers and I hope when you test next she is back in the green.

I wouldn't worry about a one-off higher number like that. As you're using Alphatrak, it's not even actually all that high - it would be about 127 on a human glucometer which is barely over the normal range. I think she's looking good on this dose
