Yesterday...

Something has to change. After all the sleep lost over the last few days, I slept right through my alarm this morning and was almost 2 hours late for his shot (and 1 hour late to work). The case of 7% cans arrived today, though higher-carb LC doesn't seem to make a difference when he's intent on diving...

I expect what has to change is food. Don't be afraid to carb him up and use an autofeeder for extra meals while you are asleep. You didn't need to get the +8 test last night.

Some cats actually do better on a little higher carb i.e. 7%. I liked the Merrick Backcountry pouches which are all 11%-12% when I wanted to slow things down but not sky rocket. https://www.chewy.com/s?query=backcountry&rh=c:325 As always, ECID.

Sleep depravation is real especially with you're added condition. I hope 9.5u gets him to a nice blue and Chino decides to go easy on the bean. Remember shooting late may or may not affect Chino. It would take Doodles days to recover from late shots...there's that ECID again.

I don't have any flexibility with my sleep schedule to be able to slowly move him back to his usual shot time, and he got the AM dose almost 2 hours late. So I gave the PM dose at +11 (his BG was definitely high enough for it) and will be giving tomorrow morning's dose at +11. Then we'll be back on track. I just need to make sure I remember we're an hour off schedule and get the +2 and +4 at the right time.

It would take Doodles days to recover from late shots...

Would it keep his BG elevated for several cycles? How quickly did you get him back on schedule when you had to shoot late?

What makes this all very frustrating is that this is the 5th cycle on 9.5 units, but I don't know how much of what I'm seeing is the late shot vs. the bounce vs. the new dose. I don't want to take him back up to 10 until I've seen what he can do on this dose when he doesn't have 2 or 3 other circumstantial factors working against him.

You'll have to see what Chino does tonight with the hour early and tomorrow morning or at PM depending on where he's at. Once you're back on schedule if it were me I'd restart the cycle count. Doodles was sensitive to early/ late shots but doesn't mean Chino will be. Consider it another data gathering situation for you both. It probably won't be the last time you're schedule gets off track. Make sense?

Also Doodles was IAA only, with advanced HCM/ CHF , not Acro and I had almost 2 yrs of data. Just don't want to steer you wrong, was just sharing experience.
