Yesterday's Condo

Cinco had a nice, boring blue surf today. That was okay, because I literally spent the entire day following Minka around, trying to get her to eat. She had her usual Pepcid and Ondansetron, but still turned down her breakfast. I opened FOUR more cans. No sale. I gave her some Cerenia. No luck. Cypro. No joy. I went and got some Purina NF and loaded a syringe. She came to greet me when I walked in the room, and just for the heck of it I set the bowl of it down in front of her. The little stinker put her face in the bowl and started eating! She ate a fair amount, but not enough to satisfy me, so I still fed her another 10 mls. She was ignoring her dinner plate when we left, so there may be more syringe feeding in her immediate future.

Harvey, Cinco and Sasha all ate well today. :) They enjoyed the buffet created by all the cans I opened, trying to tempt Minka. They even got baby food (except for Cinco - it was too late in the cycle for him). Minka did eat a little of that. I don't know what her problem was - she seemed interested in eating, but didn't like anything I offered.

We're at bowling now and I'm off to order my pretzel bites. bbl.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Yup, Ella and Elise. He appears to have hung out on the blue floor tonight. Nothing wrong with his appetite. He cleared out Otto and ate every bite of his late dinner when we got back.

We did have fun at bowling, Julie. Last night of the season. DH's team missed third place by one game. We go to Reno the first weekend of May for sweepers.

Minka appears to have eaten her early dinner, but I can't be certain someone else (ie Harvey) didn't eat it. She didn't want her late dinner, but I tried a different food and she ate some. She just looks uncomfortable, like she feels off. I'm hoping she feels better tomorrow. I'm up in the air about assist feeding any more tonight. I just wish I knew what's wrong. :nailbiting:

Sasha sounds like her asthma is worse. There was some mucus in her eyes earlier today. I cleaned it out and it didn't come back, but if she doesn't sound better tomorrow I'm calling the vet. Our progress with the mask is very, very slow, and I think she may need to go back on the pred for another couple of weeks until I can get her to let me squirt the inhaler.

Thanks, Elise. I do need some hugs. Minka looked miserable after her fluids and pills. DH coaxed her to finish her late dinner, but then she just laid there on his lap and I felt so scared. When he was ready to go up to bed, she didn't even lift her head. I picked up the plate of food from her early dinner and put it under her nose. She took a little lick, then she lifted up her head and started eating, with enthusiasm! I just sat there, holding the plate and crying. I'm still worried about her, but that did make me feel a LOT better. She ate all but one very small bite. :) She's curled up on his feet on the bed now, sound asleep. I keep going up to check and make sure she's breathing. Not sure I'll sleep tonight. I wish her next chemo was tomorrow instead of Wednesday, just to have a professional opinion on how she is. I'll make it through tomorrow, somehow. :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

It is so hard to know what is going on with them. It sounds like the cypro kicked in which is a very good thing. When they feel super rotten even that won't work. I hope they ALL eat today. Prayers and vines your way, Tricia.

Have you tried Iams Max Calorie Plus. 55kcal/oz and its a good consistency for syringing. Haven't had to try that w/ Tess yet, she likes it. I couldn't find it locally so I ordered a case from Chewy. Let me know if you want to try it, I can send you some.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: It is so darned hard that they can't talk and tell us what's going on. Sending tons of eating vines for Minka and easy breathing vines for Sasha....

Oh Tricia. Your kids are so lucky to have you. But it must be so wearing when they seem "off." I got hugs to send. I got light to wish. I got prayers for all your kiddens...and a smooch for Mr. Harvey.

And to top it off. Some kudzu....
