Happy Caturday!!

Miss China has been paddling around all day but is taking a short break on the beach this evening to give her fur a chance to dry out....but I'm sure she'll be back in the water any minute now!

Actually, the 104 is probably my fault...can you believe that I actually forgot to buy more FF? The only thing I had was some 14% so she got a little special "snack" this afternoon and then I went to the store! I could have sworn I had a few cans, but when I went to look for them, all I found was an empty bag.

Oh well, this too shall pass....and I'm actually surprised she didn't go any higher!

Hope you've all had a good Saturday....We're finally getting some spring weather and it's so wonderful!! The dogwood and the redbud's are in bloom and they're all beautiful!

I love dogwood trees, but I haven't had any luck getting one to grow for me. I tried for 3 years in a row to plant/grow a dogwood tree in my front yard but they all died. Must be some trick I don't know about.

Chris, I talked to DH about your dogwood issue, he has his degree in horticulture. Is it an American dogwood? He said the Kousa or Chinese dogwood is a bit more hearty than the American one. Here's what he said. They do not like full sun. They are under story trees, which means they grow under the taller trees in the forest. They like acidic soil and mulch as they prefer cool roots. Hope that helps.

Is it an American dogwood?

I don't really know....I didn't know there was a difference. I just bought the trees from places like Home Depot and Lowes when they had them available. Next time I consider it, I'll pay more attention to the type (I'm sure it's on the tag)
