He came down some today. Left food in bowls. I think he is getting sick of fancy feast. He slept alot today.
He ate almost 2oz of 4carb for pmps meal. Pmps/244.
All meds in at 647pm incl. 3.5u.

1st day of no fluids.
Ursodiol he actually took it on some food. I was amazed. I think he will lick it from a bowl.
Try that tomorrow.

Ducia too sleeps a lot when bouncing, and perks up when lowered. Since we canceled her fluids I started to add more water to her food to increase urination and to ketone test more frequent - those high numbers are dangerous. :bighug: Hope Sprocket takes his meds with food - so much less stress on both of you!

Help
He doesnt want to eat much today.
+2.25/203,
+4.75/112,
+6.2/87
He didnt want to get out of his cage/bed ti test. I had to test him while in there
Worried.
Gave 6carb. Ate very little

How does his breath smell?

How many different things have you tried?
They do get bored with their food. baby food? deli meat? scrambled egg? and this one usually gets most cats attention- fried chicken with the skin peeled off...

@rhiannon and shadow (GA) what do you think the chances are that he's just not hungry? Sprocket has been eating 14.5-15.5 oz of food a day IIRC which equals around 450 Kcal which he's probably needed from running higher plus post DKA. With his number dropping, and he'd already had about as much food, if not more, as most cats get in the day, how likely is it that he just doesn't feel he needs any more food right now with his body better able to use what he is eating?

@Darnell & Sprocket can you post the picture of him that you sent me on Facebook here? I'm not really seeing a sick cat when I look at it, but I'm only one opinion.

@Darnell & Sprocket OK - I think this should work. I had to download it to upload it back here, but it should show up.

If his liver values were normal.... great.
I'm not familiar with cholangiohepatitis.... and one of the symptoms of that is loss of appetite but also fever and vomiting.... I looked it up.

He doesn't look off in the picture. Does he often like to sit in the meatloaf position? It's hard to tell if he's just sitting that way because he's in the carrier.

Ya he sometimes does. He lying down in cage now.
He is sleeping alot

Will he eat a bite of cheese? See if he just needs something new.

Is it warmer today where you are?

He did just leave the pink floor today. The higher numbers make them feel worse.

Have you dragged a string or other toy in front of him?
Can you entice him to play ?

60s today but storm coming for next 3 days.
He doesnt like cheese
He just came out to eat n i closed his door. Gonna test in a min

so will he play at all?

I always say go with your gut. You know him best.
I myself would be looking for something new. What does he pester you for when you are eating?

And are you always awake at his pm +6?
He might think you should both be snoozing.....

His numbers do go lower when they won't eat.

Sleep has been a luxury the past month n half. I have not had more than 3 hrs at a time.
He is out of cage now on table thumping his tail on his bed next to me.

His body has not done textbook rules or times either.

well.... okay ....
they make kitty milk. There's catsip and whiskas.... those are about 11% carbs. You could use that as a treat.

petsmart and petco has at least one of those.
I can get them at my grocery store. You may want to find him some tomorrow .
I would add it to his canned food..... just enough to make it soupy.....

it might get him re-inspired to eat.

You've got this, Darnell. You're going to want to test again in about half an hour - so about an hour after your last test. He should be around nadir anytime now, so with the little bit he did eat he's probably going to start coming back up slowly soon. I'll be here anyway.

Nice job getting him up, Darnell. I am happy to see some green tonight, though.

I am leaning toward the theory that he just doesn't need as much food when he gets into normal numbers. My cats were that way.

The reason Rhiannon asked about the weather there is that many cats eat less when it's warm out. Mine were definitely like that.

I think he looks great in that picture - definitely not like a sick kitty!
:)
