Good morning everyone. Lulu`s starting off in the high yellows today, we`re slowly working our way back to her normal schedule after the 2 hr late shot Sunday night.
Only one metronidazole pill left, but I notice most of her poop is still soft like pudding, foul smelling (worse than normal bad cat poop smell) and I saw some mucous in one that was a little more formed when I was cleaning the litter box. I`m going to give the vet a call right away.

I didn't have any luck finding pill shooters (pill guns, pill poppers, whatever you want to call them) at Petsmart or Petco - I had to go online. I did get my first one of the style I showed you from a vet, so you might ask your vet about them.

With a diabetic, the only pill pocket that is low enough in carbs to use regularly is the kind made from duck, and unfortunately they discontinued the feline ones. Some people buy the dog version and just break off as much as they need.

I hope the poo issue isn't anything serious. Sending vines.

Thanks, Tricia. I just got home from the vet, picked up some FortiFlora and another Rx for metronidazole. Never thought to ask her about pill shooters. Anyway, we`re continuing on with the same pill treatment for another week, she suspects Lulu didn`t get the full benefit of the first week`s treatment because she was spitting them out at first and I didn`t have the heart to force them on her. There is no blood in her poop, just a small amt of mucus this a.m., and they are not as runny as last week, so the vet is thinking she`s improving slowly.

I did buy the dog duck type of pill pocket but she wasn`t interested. This morning`s pilling went well, I am getting more adept at administering them. She sure hates it, though, but forgives me quickly. Aren`t cats wonderful???

Glad to see Cinco is staying in the safe part of the lagoon today. Lulu was getting scared seeing him heading out so far as she stood onshore. Wish she`d venture into the lagoon again...

I'm glad the vet thinks Lulu is making progress. I hope the second round of pills clears things up. Pill pockets are great when the cat will eat them. It still helps me get the pill in my cats that won't eat them. It makes it go down easier if I can get it in just the right place in their mouths.

I'm happy with how the day is ending for Lulu. PMPS in the blue, and no prob with the pilling. Down the hatch, no fuss, no muss (except for the protesting when she was being wrapped in the kitty burrito, lol).
