Blaze isn't going to go down without a fight...

That's a mighty low blue...almost green if you squint...getting just the right drop at just the right moment with just a little less glucose in it may have taken several attempts though. Interesting if you read up on how glucose is held in the platelets...some have more, some have less...it's fascinating...maybe just an errant platelet for that moment in time...

He's still looking mighty fabulous...hang in there Sarah! You and Blaze are doing beautifully!

Thank you Sue!:bighug: I didn’t know that either about the platelets!

He’s actually doing pretty well on this new dose so far, I know his blues are very low, almost green. I just have to relax and let him do his things and not stress about the low blues.

I think I should have been more clear about glucose and platelets...it's not exactly in the platelets because blood is made up of more than platelets...however it is carried along in the bloodstream in different concentrations...I read an article a while back about that and unfortunately can't find it now...but it did make sense that a variety of factors can cause the concentration of BG to change from one place in the body to another and from one time to another...when you take a BG test you're getting a picture of what's going on in that location at that time...but not necessarily the same result that a lab would get from a larger sample - if that makes any sense at all...

When Luci was first diagnosed I did a lot of research to find out everything I could about diabetes in general. It helped me to understand what was going on with those numbers and why. I found it fascinating reading...the most amazing part was that cats, unlike humans can recover from diabetes! Who knew?
