I fed them the rad cat raw for breakfast, she scarfed it down and then he said after I left she barfed it all up on her blanket. She's sleeping now but I will have him give her a snack in a bit - I just want her tummy to settle down first. It could be pancreatitis and looks like an active cycle. Have him get a +3. Did she eat and hold any food down?
Not sure. I'm still hiding from the vet. I was supposed to take her last week for the curve, I just haven't gotten the courage to email or call with an update. I'm sure they will make me bring her in for this.Small amount when he does feed her. You don't want her to scarf and barf so you are right to wait a bit. You just don't want her going low either. Will your vet give you cerenia for nausea without having to haul her in?
I guess the bigger question is what is causing all of this barfing the past few weeks? is the pancreatitis test just a blood test? Something is weird with all this puking she's doing lately. she was eating the rad cat raw before without any issues - that's the only different food I have added to the mix after removing all of the dry kibble completely.I was afraid you would say that. I wouldn't want to see that vet and I most certainly wouldn't leave her for a curve. I do think she needs nausea medication though. Darn it.
me too!Poor Aurora .. not feeling well! I'm glad DH is home to keep an eye on her and get the spot checks for you.
Yes, it's a blood test. You would want the one they send out to tge lab, Spec fPL and not tge in house SNAP. Tge SNAP us just positive/negative without a number so you wouldn't know if in the gray zone. I would get results in 24 hours as my vet uses Antech but IDEXX runs the test. You could avoid the curve issue since she's not feeling well and she could get a cerenia shot and pills to take home in case she vomits more.I guess the bigger question is what is causing all of this barfing the past few weeks? is the pancreatitis test just a blood test? I'm going to stop the raw food for now and see what happens over the next few days. I might have to stall on this until I'm back from my tripYes, it's a blood test. As she's puking in the mornings, (if I remember right) when are you feeding in the PM cycle?I guess the bigger question is what is causing all of this barfing the past few weeks?
She has wet food out all the time. I put fresh wet food out at 930pm. I checked her at 2am and gave her more wet food. I think all of these snacks are making her gain weight....whenever she wants food, she gets food, turning into a little piggy. As she's puking in the mornings, (if I remember right) when are you feeding in the PM cycle?
ie when is she getting her last pm meal?
The gravy lovers are the high carb choices of FFFancy feast is a good choice if I recall but which one exactly?
Great! Thanks! The gravy lovers are the high carb choices of FF
FF classics are the LC choices
The way I worked the snacks, was I decided how much food George was allowed a day. then I divided it up, giving a larger portion at amps and pmps, dividing the rest up for his snacks.I think all of these snacks are making her gain weight....whenever she wants food, she gets food, turning into a little piggy.
I know. I'm going to have to see if the pet sitter can come Friday evening to feed incase hubby is delayed getting into airport that could be trouble. My mind is on overdrive. In laws can't help so I need plan bI would get a +2 so you know how active the cycle could be and steer with LC food if necessary and before you go to bed. I am a big fan of +2's.
Don't feel badly about poking; they are keeping her safe. Tell her it's because momma loves her!
Yeah I agree +1 always seems to be higher or same due to foodI line +2-3, anywhere within. The +1 never told me anything.
For me, +1 was worthless. +2 usually tells me my plan then I do +3 because that was my before bed time.I line +2-3, anywhere within. The +1 never told me anything.
But is lower then the PS - an active cycle is ahead. You may need to test /monitor.+2 still a little high
I'll get one at +3But is lower then the PS - an active cycle is ahead. You may need to test /monitor.
About the same with meter variance but still could be an active cycle. Is she eating okay and keeping it down? But is lower then the PS - an active cycle is ahead. You may need to test /monitor.
