Good morning

Well Willow woke me up at 1:45 am coughing then vomiting white pasty stuff. This means she has no food in her. I checked her and she was 45bg :stop: seriously! Had to give her her inhaler as well.
Gave a whole can of gravy food, she ate the whole thing and and only went to a 96bg! We are back to dancing with her insulin. I dropped her back to 1 unit from 1.25 to be safe. What is odd was she had eaten all of her food her pmps was 107bg with a 125bg@+3. She should have surfed safely.

Speaking of sharks.
We had a shark attack at one of our surf spots, great white! We have seen them there for as long as I can remember and never had one attack. It was their birthing location before the nuclear power plant shutdown.
about 7 years ago a buddy and I were surfing trail 1 just south of the attack location. My buddy had caught a wave and was paddling back out. We saw a massive great white swim right under him and turn around, surfaced and started following him. My buddy was screamhim help and headed right for me. I started screaming no and paddled to deeper water away from him because he was bringing it right at me. I stopped because deeper water would allow the shark to come up at me. My buddy came next to me the shark swam right under us. We huddled like girls afarid of the dark except it was not the dark it was scared to death of being killed by a shark. We must of sat there for a good 20 minutes waiting on any wave to take us to shore and of course it went flat. Once to shore I said I'll never surf there again and todate I have not surfed there.

Now if I can teach Willow to stop playing with the sharks we will be good.

Question on OTJ I think that the abbreviation. How long does it typically take when they surf green for a long time until we see major reductions and then no need to insulin?

Poor Willow. I hope she will surf safely for you today.

There's no easy answer to that. It depends on the cat. Some cats finally hit a point where their pancreas starts working and come down the dosing scale fast. Others work their way down slowly. Some don't ever get off insulin. They just stay regulated and surf in greens.

Wow on the shark story. That would be scary. I hope the shark attack victim is okay.

Morning,

That is what I thought on the insulin, just wanted to hear it from the experts who have been there.

The woman is going to survive, very scary. I have been complaining for years about too many people surfing and we needed a shark attack to clear out the surfers. Now that it happened I'm one of them who is not going to surf that location.

ave a whole can of gravy food, she ate the whole thing and and only went to a 96bg!
How much time had passed since you fed the whole can and took the 96 reading? If not too long than I would not call the 45 to 96 "only" - it doubled her number. It possible that the digestive works slower at night and if so then it took Willow longer to process the food you gave. I do experience with Ducia what I call "reduced food response" - she used to be bumped up 15-20 points in 15-20 min after eating a few tsp of 4%-5% LC; yesterday the same quantity/carbs value gave her only 12 points up and lasted for less then half an hour :(.
There was interesting post that talks about commercial foods/carbs content vary batch per batch. It could be possible that the gravy can you fed was actually lower in carbs value than the label says. Or maybe Willow changes her patterns.. I wondering.. Ducia most likely does pattern change to stay charmingly enigmatic cat :).
Wishing Willow safe surf and a day of healing

As we tell our kitties those sharks are nothing to mess around with!!!!! Both of you be safe!!!!
Willow sure is a perplexing FD patient:cat::):bighug::bighug:

Hi

It was one hour later after giving her the gravy. Normally with that much gravy food she should have blasted into yellow to pink. 4 hours later for her amps she was only 95bg I was expecting her blasting off and that did not happen .
She surfed mostly blue all day.
I checked her food before I tested her this morning and it was all gone, I was not expecting a 45bg.

Hi
She has been keeping me on my toes that is for sure. We keep getting close to her surfing green for a few days and she keeps blowing right past 50bg into danger zone.

How is fritzs doing?

All is well in Fritzville. He has a lung infection and is on AB has a vet apt for xrays to see if it is clearing up.
That is one thing with asthma to be on alert for infections in the lung. Symptoms are clear or colored nasal drainage lip licking and ?
Ok Willow no shark hunting......

I hope he gets better.
Thanks for the heads up on infections. Willow seems to need her inhaler more offten now.
She will start coughing so bad, she runs when she sees the mask. It helps her within 10 minutes.
Very frustrating to see her like this at times
