What a good start to the day, Patricia! Hopefully Noodle will like those calm blue waters and maybe take a slow and steady swim over to the green lagoon for you.

Sending vines to stop any barfing!

I don't think of it as such a big drop because I think she likely dropped over the course of the night. I like the +2 as a sign of more blue and possibly green to come today.

:banghead:
There really is no rhyme or reason to her. It's like she's up-up-up then suddenly her pancreas kicks in for a couple hours and she goes diving, then it stops and she's right back up again! I'm so, so frustrated to not be able to keep her in good numbers for any period of time or see a normal insulin curve EVER. I hope once I get her in for a dental, things will change, but that's still a couple weeks away... and what if they don't?

What can I try new here? She's getting 5 small meals across the first 5 hours of the cycle, that started 3/28. Maybe drop it down to less meals? Try to find a food with higher carbs (current is ~2-4%) that doesn't give her diarrhea? I'm going to try 1.5u again starting tomorrow PM or Saturday AM, maybe add a +9 meal to try to put the breaks on the late cycle lows she likes to give me at that dose. I'm just feeling really disheartened right now regarding the chaos that is her SS.

I observe that when there is no rhyme or reason.... it's tends to be the teeth.
They are just that important....with FD.

With the big picture, she's staying in the yellows.... and not in the blacks....
I know you want to stay in the basement but overall, not bad.... and it's a good sign that the dental will make a difference.

Thanks for the input, Rhiannon. It does help to know that taking care of that often helps in a situation like hers. I think I'll call the vet today to get the ball rolling on getting it done within a week or two of when I get back from my trip. I do wish I could have taken your advice and had it done a few weeks ago, but I just couldn't convince myself to risk handing her over to my mom if she was racing down the dosing scale (with not much cushion to zero as is!). Mom is nervous enough as is about Noodle-duty!

I think you made the right decision about waiting for the dental because you don't know if it will cause a quick slide or not and your mom nor you would do well worrying about that while you are so far away. I hope you can get her to post for help while she is holding down the fort. Max actually took over two weeks to recover and unfortunately it wasn't much help in terms of bringing him down the insulin cycle but I think that's is due to his chronic pancreatitis. I wouldn't feed less often as I think it might cause bigger peaks and valleys but that's just my observation.
