Well that's interesting....China's PS's have been 118 or 119 for the past 4 out of 5 cycles....talk about consistent!

Not sure what's going on today....all morning she acting like she was starving to death (which usually is my clue that she's dropping too low) but every time I tested from +2 to +6 she was 86! Was beginning to wonder if my meter was stuck!!

I guess that 120 this afternoon proves it wasn't though

Got no A/C either...the fan blows but the air isn't cold, so had to call a repairman....just hoping I don't get ripped off! I don't know a lot about A/C units and most repair guys know it so they could tell me just about anything and I'd have to believe it. Last year I got charged over $400 for "refilling the coolant"....and then I did some research that says that hardly ever needs to be done and if it does, you've most likely got a leak that needs to be fixed...the guy didn't say anything about a leak...just that it needed to be charged. For all I know, he didn't do anything but clean the unit.

The worst part is tomorrow is pain clinic day, so I won't even be here when he gets here. They couldn't get here today (so it's another uncomfortable night for me and the kitties) and I sure don't want to wait until Thursday, so I told the lady that I'd pay them over the phone as long as they'd come. :arghh:

I'm hoping we get some more storms tonight to help cool off the air...it's awful trying to sleep when you're hot and miserable

Hope you're all having a better Tuesday than we are! Kitties...be good now! China's got her binocular eyes on you!!

I can't think of the name of the part right now Chris, having a chemo brain fart, but hopefully, it's this and not the compressor. Not a lot of help I know.
 
UGH! I can't think of many things worse than A/C that doesn't work during a heat wave!!! I hope you told them to check all the hoses, etc. When we had that problem it was because rats or mice had chewed through one of the hoses! :eek: You'd think all those neighborhood kitties that poop in my yard would have taken care of that problem! :mad: It happened twice. The last time the repairman double wrapped the hoses and we've been okay for the past three years (anti-jinx).

Wow, that is one FLAT cat!!! And bookend PS numbers, too! China, you look mahvelous. Now, remember where you were today so that tomorrow you can go hang out at exactly the same spot while Mama is gone. :D Oh, Harvey just asked me to tell you he had fun with you in the lagoon today. He's taking up 3/4 of my desk chair and is too comfy to come type the message himself. :rolleyes:
 
We're up to 5 out of the past 6 cycles starting out at 118 or 119.....talk about your matching bookends!!

China says she had fun with Harvey too....wonder what kind of mischief they got into together??
 
At least Deputy China is cooling off in the lagoon. Hope you get your A/C fixed, Chris. Nothing worse than a long spell of hot weather. When we lived in the Washington D.C. area without A/C we used to put a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan. It works pretty well.

Same problem with A/C last summer. Freon leak. Repair person thought that the whatever-it's-called part cracked during installation process. They stick a dye in it and then let it run for a bit. Don't know if he replaced leaky part or just refilled. Wasn't charged. But when we turned it on over the weekend, it wasn't cooling like it should.

Exactly....and this is just the beginning....In July and August it would be a lot more miserable so I guess it's better to have it fixed now....when we have a real long streak of highs, lots of other people's units are going to break and then you sometimes have to wait a week to get a repairman out

A few years ago I spent 3 nights in a hotel 18 miles away just so I could get some sleep at night it was so hot in the house
 
We only got the A/C because of an elderly, terminally ill with multiple other issues cat who could not handle the heat even before she became sick. We would have to put her on a towel wrapped ice pack and wet her down. And yes, we will be calling the company this week.
