I can say it today: Happy appy, snuggly, spunky, feisty...but I give up on anti-jinxes since they don't seem to work at all anymore. She is back to her old self again...good appy, decent energy, improved posture, no "pees over the edge" since starting the AB last Friday....

For those who missed it, her urine culture results came in yesterday, and they showed no bacterial infection and no noteworthy crystals. I did plenty of babbling about it in yesterday's condo, but it is a baffling situation...the ABs clearly help, but there is nothing indicating the need for ABs. So, maybe she does have idiopathic cystitis and it's the anti-inflammatory properties of the AB calming her bladder, rather than the anti-bacterial properties of the AB killing an infection.

We could do an ultrasound to look for a polyp, tumor, stones...but I'm not sure we will, for a couple reasons. For one, we really couldn't do anything differently from what we are doing right now anyway if any of those things did show up on a scan - because of her kidneys, Trix cannot have any procedure that involves anesthesia, so there doesn't seem a point to putting her through the stress of a U/S. Also, I don't think we'd see repeated improvement with ABs if she had any of those things going on; instead, she'd either stay the same or get worse.

So we continue to live in Bizarro world....

In the meantime, I have switched her off Wellness (I have my suspicions about it being a factor), and I added Dasuquin in to her regimen, since that is supposed to help with cystitis issues. The Adequan that's she's already on is also supposed to be beneficial for bladder issues. I'm going to get my butt in gear and order the d-mannose today as well.

While having an infection would be not good, having an answer would be....but I guess we're being given some sort of "drive the bean crazy" test here, and I have to learn to live with it.

Gotta run errands before I can get working.....prayers to all.....

There seems to be a lot of the "drive the bean crazy" tests going on
Sometimes having a positive test result would just make things so much easier.
What is D-Mannose?

D-mannose is a supplement that is supposed to help with urinary issues...I don't know the finer details about it other than hearing other people have had great success with it. I need to read a bit more, but here is the link that Jayla sent to me for it on Amazon:
