Yesterday's Long Night's Journey into Exhaustion

Hmmm. This morning's cycle looks vaguely familiar. Is this a deja vu of yesterday??? I certainly hope it doesn't mean the same hijinks are planned for tonight - we are supposed to go out for dinner and cards with friends. Cinco, Mama wants you to stay on shore tonight, you hear? Cinco? Cinco? At least he didn't bounce (anti-jinx). He obviously was serious about wanting to get back to 1.0 units. He also apparently wants his ears to get a break. Granted.

Minka was feeling a bit better last night. When I went upstairs to bed I left her curled up on her pillow on the love seat in the family room, sleeping with her eyes open (it really unnerves me when she does that). After I got all ready, I walked over to the bed, and guess who was curled up in the middle of my pillow!! Then Sasha, who always helps me get dressed and get ready for bed, jumped up on the bed and settled down in the middle of my side. I felt like I was being told to sleep elsewhere! Although I hated to do it, I did move Minka. She grumbled a bit but settled down between my ankles where she usually sleeps. This morning she was much improved - perkier, more relaxed, and SHE ATE ALL HER BREAKFAST, in two sittings, and even had a small snack at fluids time!!

This is my "I'm so relieved" dance. Maybe Amy is right, and the iron shot upset her system. I'm just grateful that she's better. Nights like last night are hard on this bean's heart (and that's without Cinco's deep sea diving).

Sasha's appy is still a bit iffy in the mornings, so today I gave her some Ondansetron and Pepcid. A while later, I saw someone had thrown up in the guest room. Sasha is the one that goes in there the most, so I'm suspecting her. *SIGH* It's always something.

It's cool and breezy here today, as it was yesterday. Supposed to be in the 70s all week. I'm thrilled. The longer the 80+ temps stay away, the happier I'll be. Now if we could just get some rain...

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla and Callie. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Congrats on the reducie....now work it and hold it - ok, Cinco? And let MamaBean go out for fun tonight!

I am SO relieved that Minka is feeling better. The rollercoaster is so brutal, and we beans never get used to it, do we? Continued appy and feel better vines, just in case. Same for Sasha!!

Enjoy your evening, Tricia!

I hope the iron is helping with Minka's appy and she continues to feel better and better. I hope the vomit with just a little stomach acid and everyone including you has a great weekend. Maybe you can get a good night's sleep TONTHEIR get. You must be so tired. :bighug: Thanks for always thinking of my DM.

Wowsers he really wanted that reduction, what a night! I hope he settles and lets you go out tonight - if you can stay awake o_O
Go Minka :joyful: when my mum has taken iron it always upsets her tummy somewhat so hopefully Minka's over that now and will stay on track with her eating.
Sending vines for Sasha.

Woah, Cinco! You were a cat on a mission last night! Give your bean a little rest today, ok? Lots of vines for the other kitties.:bighug: Fwiw, I've heard similar things as Serryn, iron supplements upset most of my friends' stomachs.

Thanks for visiting us, Amy, Elise, Serryn and Patricia. Minka is definitely feeling MUCH better - she's perky and lively and eating like she's starving (which she should be, after yesterday). Talk about highs and lows! I need to go back and she when she got her first iron shot, a month or two ago, and see if there was a corresponding drop in her appy. I know she wasn't as bad as she was last night - this is only the second time she was like this. The first was last week. It just shakes me up to see her like that - I keep wondering if we're losing her. I know all her tests say she's holding her own, but when that happens I get so scared.

Waiting to hear from our friends in Sac if we're a go for tonight. It would be fun to get out, but I'll be worrying about Cinco the whole time. Thank goodness for Otto! At least it's looking like I won't have to be worrying about Minka, too (anti-jinx!).

Congrats on the reducie. I hope Cinco surfs safely while you're out and Sasha's tummy settles down.

I'm glad Minka is doing better today. I know it's hard not to worry, but all we can do is take it one day at a time and make the most of the time we have with them. :bighug::bighug: Thanks for the vines for Callie.

Wow Cinco....when you want to make a statement, you make it loud and clear, don't you?

So thrilled to hear that Minka is feeling better!! Iron can cause nausea, so it's very possible that didn't help with her appy yesterday

Cinco..you be a good boy and let your mamabean get out tonight....after the hijinx last night, it's the least you can do!!

Thanks for all the visits, everyone! I was really on the fence about going out tonight when Cinco tested at 125! Actually, DH got 122 on the first test and rechecked to be sure! After some dithering and discussion, he squeezed a drop off the shot and I loaded up Otto with 8% food, so we went. It looks like Cinco behaved himself while we were gone. He actually missed one feeding, so I doubt he was low - he doesn't miss food when he's dropping!

We had a good time with our friends - we got KFC and watched the NASCAR race and played cards. Driving home was the worst - we were both so tired. I wish we lived in Sacramento, but oh well! I always wake up when we get home, especially 'cause I have to feed, medicate and hydrate kitties. DH goes straight to bed as he is morning BIC. Minka went to bed with him and I felt very mean when I dug her out of her comfy nest between his knees and brought her downstairs for her fluids! She didn't complain and was busy eating the whole time. She was starving when we got home - even though she had eaten all the dinner we left her. :) She's polished off 3/4 of a can of her latest favorite - Avoderm Salmon Consomme. I am one relieved bean.

I'm almost wound down, so guess I'll toddle off to bed. Ni ni.
