Skooter is doing EXCELLENT! I will not be home until shot time tonight. SO BEHAVE SKOOTERMAN!!!! I am leaving work early so I can have my last dietician meeting. And then I have a few more errands to run for the shower before I come home to try and finish up the thank you cards for her to send out.....I have to put together the "thanks" part, which will be a few steps and then the icky part of 35 pairs, or 70 googly eyes on them....why I do these things to myself I am really not sure, but.....I guess she is my sister, so :rolleyes:

Hope everyone has a good Thursday, I have a couple more tough days at work and then MAYBE it will slow down ever so slightly!
 
Utterly exhausted.......so did not go the way I was planning on it going.

WARNING BEYOND THIS IS A LITTLE GROSS!!!

I had to call my mom for some shower stuff and it sounded like I had just woken her up, but no, she was just sick. She threw up three times while on the phone with me. After consulting with her clinic, off to the ER we were. I had to leave work earlier than planned and missed my last dietician session.....

Turns out to be exactly what we thought, another bowel obstruction :mad::arghh::confused: She hasn't had one in a very long time. She vomited the whole car ride to the ER, which is great, because I do so well with that sound, NOT. But I was the only one available to drive, so. She got an NG tube put in and within a few hours, she has already filled up about 1/3 of the container.

So back to the hospital I go tomorrow so we can meet with the surgeon again to see if they are going to have to do surgery or not. They did a CT scan and there is a kink in her bowel. They are hoping by inserting the NG tube and cleaning her out and not letting her eat or drink, her bowel will rest enough and unkink itself. If it does not, then she will have surgery tomorrow afternoon......

This kid is exhausted, hoping to stay up until 11 to do a +4.5 and then go to bed.....


As for that 136.....I am not sure if I have to restart his clock or not.....I will wait for the smart people to chime in....he did come down very nicely to a 68, so.......hoping someone will chime in and let me know.....
 
I'm not sure about the count - you're talking about trying a reduction after 7 days in normal numbers? Meters can have variations, so i guess if that little 136 is a stand-alone blip, i might not put too much weight on it.

Your poor mom - i hope the ng tube and not eating does the unkinky thing. ;)
 
Here's another vote for the "wait and see if it's a blip" chain of thought

Sending mega vines for your mom and hope the rest overnight does what they want it to so she can avoid the surgery!

Be good Skooterman....your mama has other things to worry about right now (yes, there is another life outside of taking care of you, believe it or don't!)
 
Mega prayers for your mom. My mom had an obstruction a coupe years ago and had emergency surgery. We live I fear of what you are experiencing. I sure hope the surgery can be avoided. :bighug:

What an awful day for you and your poor DM. Sending tons of vines that she gets unkinked without surgery.

Skooterbear, please listen to your aunties and surf those lovely high greens and low blues so your Mamabean can look after your grandmabean.
