Nice start for Ravan today! It's gloomy today here as well, and cold. :( Lately it's been consistently beautiful on days I work and then cold, gloomy, and/or rainy on my days off. It really gets to be depressing after a while. I've been meaning to start yoga for a couple of years now and I just can't quite get started. I really hope to because I've heard so many good things! I hope you both have a wonderful day today!

I just can't quite get started.

The sooner the better! I'd be in a wheelchair with my spine fused if I didn't find Yoga 16 years ago! I had 4 herniated discus & physical therapy & chiropractic didn't help. I refused surgery. Started going to Yoga to see if it would help. I went 6 & 7 days a week . Couldn't do much at all when I started
I was in a lot of pain. 6 weeks later ,no more pain! :D When I stopped going last year (Ravan got diabetes) I really felt it. My back & leg were hurting. Now I try to go 2 -4 times a week & feel a lot better. I also take Turmeric with piperine 2 X a day. That helps a lot!

3 years ago I hurt my shoulder & went to the Chiropractor. He took an X ray of my spine (I think they always do that no matter what hurts) He asked me if I was in severe pain in my back. I told him No, no pain at all in my back.
He told me I had the worse spinal stenosis he's seen. No discs between the vertebrae top to bottom They were all flat. He asked what I was taking for pain. I told him Yoga & Turmeric for inflammation. He was "Amazed"

So, Amanda, find a Yoga class you like & I guarantee you'll be glad you did!

I used to go 6 days a week. When Ravan got diabetes I nearly stopped completely! Now that he's doing good I go as much as I can, 2-4 times a week.
:woot: 6 days a week, wow! So it's a daily class you can go whenever you feel like it! If that's it, you're lucky! Here I only have one weekly class and most of the time I can't go, so I got some DVDs and I'll try to do it at home!
Since Ti-Mousse was diagnosed, I quit everything I was doing and I'm working for him full time! :) I'm trying to get back to a normal life now!!
Hope Peggy Sue won't have to much to say tonight so you'll be able to have a good night sleep! :p

Wow! Incredible to hear about your story. I was just thinking this morning that I need some type of enjoyable exercise so I stop waking up feeling like dirt everyday. My back and head hurts and I don’t feel rested at all. Yoga sounds like a great option for that.

I also did the same: quit or stopped a lot of stuff I used to do because of Ming’s diabetes and other things in life. It’s time to re-evaluate myself and try to fit in some good things again :)

No, your not alone, we're all in the same boat, thank goodness we have each other. I never imagined that there would be a silver lining in all of this and that I would "virtually" meet such wonderful people as here.

It really makes a difference to know other people are going through the same / similar thing here, the bonus is definitely that everyone is so wonderful on top of it!

Well put Sonia :)
