Nice to see some action on this dose. Hope he slides back to the lagoon today.

Is it typical to see the Levemir kick in after about 7 days like Fritz had?

ECID as always Carol. Doodles had an immediate response from Levemir on the first day!

So I shouldn't start with a nighttime dose or on a day when I can't monitor every few hours?

Correct. You want to start on a day you can monitor.

I would definitely start on a daytime dose. We had one member several years ago who switched from PZI to lev and the CG and Jill were up all night working low numbers. And yes, I'd pick s day when you can be around to check on him as much as might be needed.

Sorry for the condo hijack, Deb, but now we put those patience pants back on and hope Fritz clears quickly! Maybe a movie day?

Im not sure, still trying to get my mind off Prozinc and learning Levemir. I have noticed how with Levemir he's clearing bounces quicker and the insulin appears to be lasting longer than Prozinc.

It is possible he might onset and come back down. We got into a routine of hanging out until +5 and if she wasn't starting to get busy by then, we knew we could get out a couple hours but Fritz might have different plans.

Remember this is the time the insulin is continuing to wane so you would expect numbers to come up.

With Doodles if his +4 is the same or lower it could mean a more active cycle. It's just something I've noticed and picked +4 because that's usually when his second meal of the day is. Over time Deb you'll start to figure out something to help gauge Fritz's cycles as Marje mentioned :)

@Marje and Gracie & all the other beans:) Got the results back Fritz doesn't have Acro & or IAA. I e-mailed the vet office to get the results on paper, she did mention a number 52 not sure what that means.
I am thankful we don't have to add that to his list of treatments:blackeye::cat::woot:

Awesome news! :woot: The 52 is probably the IGF-1 result. Over 92 is positive for acromegaly. Looks like he just needed the kick in the butt that the switch to Levemir is giving him.
