I think scratches need another increase. I did get a new lantus pen yesterday and we opened it today, so maybe I should hold off a couple cycles since it's new?

I would increase and not wait for a few cycles due to the new pen. You might want to increase in the morning just in case you get an active cycle. I never found changing the pen to be dramatic.
