And yes, that is a soap opera reference to Days of our Lives (not sure if they still use it), as Skooter's numbers as of late have reminded me of a soap opera....

The 81 is the average of two tests, because I don't even trust myself with that anymore....first test was 76 and second test was 86.

I still feel in such uncharted territory right now and I have no idea if I am doing the right thing or not with dosing......I know I am sucking at being consistent with this dose, I am trying my best, but I do find this one challenging and I don't know if that is playing into anything. I am hoping what I figured out this morning, will help me be more consistent which should help.

The other thing I have to remember, since being on this dose, yes he has spent a little more time in blue, but the numbers are still good. It all comes back to do I bring him up to have more lower numbers, but then his nadirs seem good. I feel like a broken record.....

Goodness knows, Molly, I struggle with a fat 2.o. No way I can help with what you and Skoots are experiencing.

But....I can say your boy is looking absolutely fantastic. Something's working right!

Yo Skooter, Cuz Michael here.

Lookin' good! Maybe you can try to stay in the lagoon just a little bit longer for your Momma. Not deeper just close to shore longer.:cat:

Skooter is doing great and so are you, Molly. Hitch up those patience pants a little tighter. Remember what Zener said, "more petting, less worry". :)

So long story short (as I am not very happy right now).....

Incident #2 with vet's office --- clinic staff again NOT vet --- I called the vet's office to order his budesonide a week ago Friday. Normally it would be here by now, so I called Wedgewood Pharmacy and they did not have a record of it. Called the vet's clinic and they have record that I called to order it, but it never made its way to the person who does the ordering. So now I paid for overnight shipping through RoadRunner pharmacy so I can have it tomorrow. He will most likely miss his dose tomorrow because I don't have a ton of it left, maybe half a dose. They are also going to do the chicken flavor and she confirmed there is no sugar in it. Do I need to be concerned about this effecting his sugars at all because it is coming from a different company than normal? Or can I assume that chance is there with each new bottle he gets even from the same pharmacy.....At this point, and I told her this, I question if I should be bringing my cat there. The two vets he has seen there have been stellar, but if the staff is not able to order medications timely......

The clinic staff did not even apologize for the error nor did they tell me the error was theirs until after I called back to ask if it was that they didn't have record of me calling or what happened. So now I am going to work on a case at work, and try to calm down before my next meeting.

I understand your frustration. Staff incompetency is what led me to switch Cinco from a local vet to UCD for all his care. Have you spoken with the office manager, or maybe with your vet about the issues? I would try it, when you are calmer.

Meanwhile, Skooter is looking fabulous and you are doing a wonderful job. Sorry, no advice from me. Just :bighug:

I would hope it would not have a different effect from one brand to another.
But budesonide did raise Shadow's bg.... and it's possible that is what is keeping him just a bit above where you want.

I wasn't giving bude every day.... I would give it less often... and I would notice those days went higher.

He has to have pretty much every day or he starts throwing up, that is what I have noticed. He has pretty much been on it non-stop since the diabetes diagnosis, so I feel lucky in that sense....I just hope there isn't a difference from one brand to another.

This just really hasn't been my day.....so after the medication debacle, I went back to work and one of our attorneys kept me there til about 5:55 still working a letter that had to go out (even though I said I needed to leave between 515 and 530). It wasn't until I sent a message saying I needed to leave no later than 6, and that was pushing it to get home on time to t/f/s Skooter that she was like, ok as long as we get it out first thing in the morning....GROWL...

Got home barely in time to shoot at 615 and then we had scarf and barf...followed him all over the top floor as he felt the need to vomit in five, I think, different places. I should have known when he was a little fickle about his fuds last night....he did, however eat almost everything I left during his AM cycle....of course I am a little freaked because I am not sure what I have left in his current IBD bottle to give a full dose tomorrow or not....perfect timing for this!

I know I just need to take a few minutes and calm down because a headache started at about 515 and it is just getting worse.....I was going to do a few errands tonight on my way home and I obviously didn't get those done either....I need to go get more needles, (I try to have 1 - 2 unopened boxes on hand at a time), more miralax and I thought something else for Skoots......maybe I will try to sneak out between now and his +2 test....

I have been working on my technique to get the 0.10 dose more consistent and I think **antijinx** I finally feel like I might have a more consistent dose, so we shall see how that goes as well.....

So I almost got killed running my errands, I KNEW I shouldn't have left the house *** SIGH ***

HOWEVER, I did pretty much guarantee that Skooter will go OTJ....I wasn't thinking and bought two boxes of needles and bought them out of lancets (as they always seem to have so few)....I also just recently got my supply of test strips, so lolololol

I did realize as I was mulling over if I should get one GIGANTIC bottle of miralax or two smaller bottles that ppl might think it was for me....oh well....I did go with the two smaller bottles as I would never be able to get my measuring spoon to the bottom of the bottle.....

You could make a comment about your mother and the miralax... :joyful: Surf safely, Skooter. Feel better vines for you, Molly.
