Hey Neko, I've only postponed putting your dose back so I could get some sleep. Show me what this dose can do ASAP, or back you go.

I realized I was lucky this weekend with the hole in one gelcappings. Today was a failure and repack before I got it. I've confirmed that putting butter on the pill seems to make this easier for her to spit out. :rolleyes: Thank goodness for ostrich liver pate as a post pilling treat. She loves that stuff.

I mixed things up with a little NV canned duck this morning, Neko was very enthusiastic. I only gave it as part of her meal. Last time after duck we had our first pukus in a long time the day after, so this is in nature an experiment. It would figure that food the civie can eat is something she cannot, and vice versa.

Oh boy, I thought the butter trick would have been my ace in the hole.......guess not.

Wendy, do you give Nature's Variety Rabbit to Neko by any chance and if you do, do you know the carb count for "as fed " the grain free one? I have all the other flavors but not rabbit. Wondering if the duck is too rich?? I have the NV duck and haven't tried that flavor yet. I will go lightly with it.
 
The NV rabbit is probably too high in phosphorus, like most rabbit, for her highness. So I haven't investigated the carbs. The peon (civie Theo) loves it, as well as the duck. Neko has had duck before, but only as part of her meal. And the, there was no problem. The issue was just the one time it was her entire meal. She also had a foamy pukus the following day, so it could have been something else. Hence the experiment. I prefer giving Neko raw but I like the occasional protein variety thrown in. And I can't get raw duck without bones/phosphorus.

The butter trick works well for others. Neko is a contrarian.:rolleyes:

I did two doubles races and one quad this weekend. The first double was with DH - did not make it to the final. The second was a women's double yesterday - details in yeterday's post. Summary - we got silver by lightning. Coach told DH yesterday after seeing that result that he's going to stop predicting anything. Let's just say no one expected us to do that well. We did better than any other double team from our club. :cool: And he rewarded us by putting the two of us in a double for today's practise. It was supposed to be a recovery row but with other boats being quads or mens double, we had to prove we earned our silver. ;) Thankfully, no more sprint races, on to long distances.
 
Oh Neko, time to head to the lagoon, mama bean has ITF. Sorry about the gelcap...Neko is very clever kitty. Hope the NV duck works out! I'm still amazed at the great raw food options you have available locally. ;);)
 
Sigh, found a Leukeran pill on the floor by her memory foam bed just after dinner. So, instead of last night, she got it tonight.:rolleyes:

I have one raw food store nearby that exclusively sells raw food, and even better, only raw made locally. The place is full of freezers and options. They do have treats from a bit further away. The ostrich liver pate is made locally too.
 
Sweet on the silver! Good for you! Uh, Neko, not so sweet in spitting out the Leukeran, you need to take that to feel better.

I watch Harvey like a hawk on Leukeran nights. He's actually pretty good about swallowing the pills, as long as I get them in the right place. He's gotten better at spitting them back out at me if I get them in the wrong place, too. :rolleyes:

Sasha couldn't eat the NV duck, either. It made her throw up. She could, and did eat the Max Cat duck with no issues.

Two cycles of all blue! Not bad. I know you want green, but this beats the heck out of pink and yellow!
