Good morning!
AMPS 347 shooting 1.25u

Boomer ate most of his overnight fuds; I had given him a bit more +6 because he seemed to be very hungry before his +9 dishes were opening. Of course he left the extra +6 :rolleyes:
Allen also ate well overnight.

Well...I thought the other day that I was finally getting to the right dose and he was working the juice. Thought the higher numbers following were a bounce. But this is cycle 4 since those blue numbers and he's still pink. I stuck with 1.25u today but unless I see some movement I guess I will be increasing to 1.5 tomorrow. My boy is being very stubborn!!!

Still no info from Dr Larry about the dental. It seems the surgeons are being very slow at getting back to him.

Today's photo is a shot of a Coneflower. I went to these gardens with the hope of shooting butterflies. Well....there weren't any butterflies to be seen :( Enjoy!

It may be the teeth that are holding the numbers higher too. Poor Boomer. Is he feeling ok? Gizmo feels yucky at higher numbers since riding at the lower blues recently.

Beautiful flower. The arboretum that I go to had two years of flooding and it destroyed about 75% of the park grounds. There were no butterflies this year either.
 
Let's talk about ketone testing...... Boomer only pees maybe 3 or 4 times each day (this never changes even when he's OTJ). Of course some of those pees are at night. I haven't tried actually catching the pee. We've been trying the plastic wrap in the box method.....the first day it worked and since then he won't go near the box....he just waits it out. I know some have suggested using aquarium gravel in the box because it doesn't absorb. But I'm wondering......if we put just a little litter in the box at the end he doesn't usually use.... the pee might puddle in the other end....can I use that to get a test?
 
I hope Boomer is just being bouncy and he comes down today. I think the pee needs to be fresh for ketone testing. If you can get it to puddle and find it right away, I think that will work. Hopefully you can get his teeth taken care of soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I used to put a tiny, tiny amount of litter in a box and then I could dip the stick in the other end of the box after she went. I was pretty lucky that I knew she would usually use the box within 15 minutes of me getting home from work, so I would sit with her in the room until she went. I have since switched to the blood ketone meter. The strips are expensive, but the process is SO much easier. This is the meter I use: nova max meter
 
Booms, please get back to business buddy. Hope you hear something soon, it's very frustrating to have to wait so long. Good luck with catching the pee! I could never use the urine strips so Nova Max was my preference too.
 
Ok too funny. All my plotting and scheming re the ketone test and plastic in the litter box and whatever......I removed most of the litter and left the existing litter at the opposite end of the box to which he usually pees. And he just ate his +3 then wandered over. And of course squatted in the litter end instead of his usual end :rolleyes: so luckily I had a scoop close by so I grabbed it and was able to get a sample no problem :rolleyes: sometimes I should just try the easiest method first lol.
Ketones negative!
 
I don't think Boomer is feeling well today. He didn't have a poop last night so I assume that's what the problem is. Will give a little more clearlax tonight.

I think increasing to 1.5u is fine as long as he's not trying to clear the bounce.

NOte: this suggestion is for Boomer only. Judy is an experienced CG and Boomer is back from remission which requires a little more aggressive treatment. This would not be my same advice for a newly diagnosed cat.
