Maggie was calm, but ready to EAT this morning.

Although I've read all the instructions for giving a shot, my skill set is still lacking. Maggie is squirmy or trying to walk away most of the time. I shoot in the flank because Maggie would move even more if I tried the stomach, and it would become a wrestling match. Just pinching her skin for a tent is challenging and it takes multiple tries to pull the skin up. I know to point the needle bezel up for easy entry, but I can tell Maggie still feels it most of the time. She is more irritated than angry that I still haven't figured out what works best.

I guess practice makes purr-fect. Sorry Maggie, I'm trying...

I'm glad Maggie was ready to eat this morning. It takes time to get the hang of giving the shot. Furball fought me a lot at first, but then we got into a routine. I learned to roll back the skin after tenting to try and avoid fur shots. Then I always give her loving afterwards. When she was annoyed at me when we first started giving shots, I wouldn't let her walk off without giving her some loving and that seemed to help.

I am sorry about the difficulty with giving the shot. :bighug: I give Osha's while she is eating and she doesn't move or flinch at all. As with everything in life, it will get easier with practice.

Lovely blue start this morning Maggie!

I'm sure this isn't the problem, but figured I would throw it out there. I was having difficulty with giving shots also. I then realized I was injecting into the side of the tent instead of the actual tent. Things are much better now. He doesn't jump when inserting th needle. The only other thing I have noticed is to stay close to the bottom of the tent. If I get a little higher, he notices the shot. Some posted a very good video for me. I will look back through my condo and find it for you.
