Only thing new here is it's not raining but it's 66 degrees.

Hubby is going to stain deck, I'm going to clean half the kitchen carpet. The work half of the kitchen. Eat in half and down the hall I will do another day.

I think I could clean the stupid kitchen carpet 10 times and the water will still come out black. Can't wait to get new floor in. I just might have to go back to work.
We ripped out the carpet and are living on the concrete. Remodeling kinda took a back seat to Gizmo's FD and other issues. What we have done, doesn't "show" (replumbed the house, replaced a/c, replaced breaker box and wiring). We did get the siding replaced and the house painted so the outside looks great . We have a 2 story so before I can do any flooring or remodel down stairs I have to do the bathrooms upstairs. Plus we are paying cash so it is slow going anyways.

I know about the slowness. We pay cash also. We have a small ranch. Bought it in 2006. Didn't move in until 2009. It hadn't been touched since the 70's. All the walls except living room had dark paneling. So the 3 years of was empty we took the paneling out. Then the foundation drainage had to be done and dh has been digging by hand for last 10 years. Now that he is home hopefully it will be done this year, but all this rain has halted the work. We have replaced all bedroom walls, carpet, some light fixtures, new siding, windows, doors, metal roof, new appliances. New not water heater in February. DH is having a dental implant not covered by insurance. I have to have 3 part dental bridge not covered, next year. And had 2 new cars through all this. Put in a crude basement bathroom last summer and the only house bathroom was gutted and remodeled in October. Our kitchen/dining area is about 1/4 of the house. The two "rooms" are separated by a peninsula counter. It's all paneled and kitchen has an awful drop ceiling. Dining area has been done already except carpet. The kitchen will be gutted and totally remodeled. When we have the money saved up. Except I might just go ahead and get the carpet out and new floor in. I don't know what kind of floor though. Floors get mighty cold here in the winter so ceramic is out. To carpet the dining part there isn't an even or straight place for transition where it would look good. I like the vinyl tile we put in the bathroom but that gets so cold in the winter to. It is slow going. And we are having some trees removed soon. So I might just have to get a job for awhile. Oh and all new furniture, as did not bring any com our old house.

I can work as med tech at the facility where my dad is. Part time night shift (which I prefer) but winters will be tough because of roads so I don't know if I can always get there. And do I really want to commit to a work schedule again.
