Last Time at Tricia's House of Chaos

Thank you to all who visited my last condo. Sorry I keep missing days. I just get so overwhelmed with all I have to get done, and I generally don't have a chance to sit at the computer for more than a few minutes until very late at night. I will confess that an addiction to Tiny Kittens has also cut into my Board time. I am just so fascinated by little Cassidy and the way he's fighting to survive, and my heart has been catnapped by Topper.

We are all still plugging along. Not much new. The vet did call yesterday to say that Cinco's T4 was 4.4, which she was very pleased about. :) So he's on the correct dose of Felimazole. I have to say that I really have seen no change in him since he's been on the meds. Of course, he never showed any symptoms of Hyper-T, unless you count the excessive water intake and output, which I had always attributed to his FD and early kidney disease. That hasn't really changed, either. I am really, really, REALLY hoping we will get some results from the biopsies tomorrow. I have no fingernails left and my hairdresser is really going to have to use the extra strength stuff to cover all this gray hair

Cinco had one of those weird cycles yesterday that had us suspecting a furshot, although there was no evidence other than rising numbers, but then he was down at PMPS. So I guess he was just being a cat. I'm amazed that he didn't bounce from that drop last night. Talk about stepping off a cliff!

Minka had another crappy appy day yesterday, and today isn't any better. She ate a little tri tip a while ago, but hasn't had much else - a few licks of baby food and maybe a tablespoon of cat food. I plan to syringe some shortly, and will probably also syringe a little squash to see if I can loose up her poos.
Timeout: I just took a break to try again and she actually ate a couple small spoonfuls of baby food. I followed it up with a dose of hairball gel, which she is still trying to get off her face. :p

Sasha's appy is still so-so, but I do think she is getting enough. She likes Nutri-Cal, so I've been giving her a dose of that, too. The oncologist that saw her Thursday e-mailed me late Friday to say Dr. S hadn't been in, so he couldn't show her the photo of Sasha's sore. He did speak to the Dentistry department, and they want to see her. He asked if I could bring her in on Monday or Tuesday. I responded that of course I could, but the Tuesday fits my schedule better. Saturday morning he copied me on an e-mail to the Oncology coordinator, instructing him to fit Sasha in sometime Tuesday afternoon and let me know. I really appreciate that kind of accommodation.

Harvey is still hoovering. :) He's such a little knothead, though. He'll decide he doesn't like what I've dished up for him, then he'll follow me when I take Minka her food and try to eat it! Even when it's the same thing! Eventually he goes back to his own plate and cleans it off, then parks in the kitchen, awaiting a refill. Silly boy.

Totally off topic (like most of my condos aren't, already): sometime last year I got a PM here on FDMB from a cousin that lives in Slovenia. He found me by doing a google search on his grandmother's name, which was Minka! We corresponded back and forth and he was basically translating for his great aunt, who speaks very little English, but who was very excited to find a relative here in the States. Well, my brother had to go to Paris for two weeks on business, and he managed to get a flight to Slovenia Friday after work. He met those relatives and a bunch more, and saw the place where our grandfather was born, etc.! I have been researching my family history for many years, but had little info on our father's family, as he was first generation American. This amazing connection, thanks to the Board, has given us a ton of info, and enabled my brother to meet family member we never would have known about! Just wanted to share what I think is a very exciting occurrence, and another reason I'm so grateful we were directed to FDMB 4 years ago.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

An early condo from you today!
The photo you posted yesterday of Cinco with the shaved areas.....on Wendy's condo, was it? Anyway I just wanted to say how beautiful and shiny Cinco's coat looked. He is a lovely colour.
Hope you get news soon on the biopsy.

Was very interested to read your family history bit. How exciting for you to find out so much information.
I am very into family history research and have found many unknown relatives and have managed to go back many generations on most lines.

You have so much on your plate Tricia. You do a great job handling it. Thanks for thinking of me and Baby with everything you have going on. I hope Minka's appy gets better. Harvey is just being a typical cat. Don't you know the food tastes better if it's on someone else's plate? LOL. Sending prayers for Cinco and Sasha. :bighug:

Looks like Cinco and China are both taking a break from the lagoon today....hopefully they'll meet up later and go for a dip!

I know it's not exactly "financially appropriate", but it seems like when the girls won't eat, they'll always eat tri-tip....wonder what would happen if you just ground some up? Might be interesting to see if they'd eat it!

How cool about "meeting" family so far away!!

Hi Tricia :):coffee:

I am always taken back by how much you have to manage there, and you do it all so well. Kudos! Healing and feel better vines for your troops. Feel good kitties!

I LOVE the story of meeting family from so far away. Incredibly cool!

I liked the accommodation, from the vetty DR's, you got for Sasha. That is really nice. Seems to be very caring people.

Hope your day has been a good one. :bighug:

Thanks for stopping in, Bron, Carla, Chris and Michelle.

Cinco is a very flat blue kitty, but I'm good with it - low blues are quite acceptable to me right now.

Minka and I have worked on that jar of baby food all day and it's about half gone. She did eat about half of her dinner, too, over the course of the past 30 minutes. I just syringed 2.5 cc of baby food squash. She didn't seem to mind it - sniffed the syringe like, hmmm. What was that? It's not so bad. But she didn't lick it off, so it's not so good, either, I guess. :joyful:

Sasha had polished off her breakfast and the big spoonful of baby food I gave her this afternoon. She only ate about 1/4 of her dinner, but I'm hopeful she'll do the same with it and eat it in little bits through the evening. Harvey and Cinco, of course are card carrying members of the CPC.
:)

Hey, I actually got a project completed today. Remember a week or so ago I was going to rearrange my "pharmacy counter"? I got it done today. I think it looks better, and it's more efficient:

Now I'm working on crushing Minka's supplements and putting them in gelcaps. Takes a while, even with my capsule gizmo.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday.

I am right there with you! When I am doing case reviews at work, I plug my earbuds in so I can hear them....so nice when Shelly happens to be in giving meds and such....

I am also very much in awe of Ms. Tip.....I have seen her patiently laying there while twelve kittens are running all over her trying to get to the milk bar....the work that tinykittens does is AMAZING!

I am also very much in awe of your pharmacy counter....I couldn't imagine trying to keep all of that straight...

Here is to Cinco going on down to the lagoon for a swim....
