Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Oooookay! So we kept the dose at .75 this morning, and look what the little stinker did!!:rolleyes: Those +5 tests were me, testing in the waiting room at UCD (clearly stress does not raise Cinco's BG!). Rubbing sugary stuff on his gums just doesn't do it for my kitty - he wants food! The tech that takes care of him during his treatments was a little at a loss - doesn't get a lot of diabetics going low in radiation - and said he would monitor him and talk to the doctors about when or if a glucose drip was needed. I hope they don't overreact!

Now, the question is, should we continue to shoot .75 on treatment days, or back it down to .5??? Thoughts?

Minka's appy was just okay today - some cat food, some baby food - all in small amounts at a time. But at least she is eating and looks like she feels just fine.

Slightly cooler today, but still pretty warm. Sasha's appy was doing the slow start routine, but it did get going eventually.

Harvey seems a little subdued today, and his Hoover was set on medium suction, but he still ate more than enough, so I'm just keeping one eye on him.

Bowling tonight, so I hope my little troublemaker has had enough fun for one day! Gotta go jump in the shower, and then it will be time to go fetch him. Hope everyone is having a good Monday.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Aiyeeeeeeee! Cinco1 WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR BEAN!!!

Oh wow Cinco. I'm not sure about the dose. It looks like he may have been recovering from a bounce last night. Maybe you could try an in between dose.

I'm glad Minka and Sasha are eating today. I hope Harvey's hoover gets back to normal soon.

CINCO!!!....there's a word for cats like you, but this is a family site (snot)

I'm at a loss too as far as the dose goes....sure looks like he should go back down at least until all this is over, but I know it's very distressing to see those icky high numbers too

Look forward to hearing how they handled him at UCD today too!

Hope it continues to cool down and that helps jumps start the girls appy's!! ...and Harvey...now is no time to add any drama, so just keep on hoovering!!

Have fun at bowling tonight...and Cinco...NO funny business!! Mama needs her garlic pretzel bites after the day she's had!!

Maybe it was the Full Blood Moon? Full moons have been known to affect everything, so why not blood glucose? Good to see that the whole kitty krew is hanging in there. Cinco is such a brave little guy.

Enjoy your bowling night, Tricia. You deserve it!

Yo Deputy Cinco, You're on duty tonight. I hope to join you later. Lookin' good, man.

~ Rusty

It would drive me crazy but I would try the ,50 and see how he does. Lows without food are just too scary I think. Have fun bowling!

No dose advice but I hope Cinco settles into his numbers soon. Continued hugs, purrs, and vines during his treatment too!

And now we bounce!

Thanks for checking on us, Ann, Carla, Chris, Ella, Anne, Elise and Gabrielle.

When I went to pick Cinco up the Radiation Oncologist came out to talk to me. She said the treatments were going really well, and they might want to start him on ABs next week. I don't remember them putting Sasha on ABs. She said they would normally put him on Pred, too, but she wanted to avoid that, if possible. I told her, so do I! We discussed his BGs, and she asked me to go ahead and shoot .75 tomorrow to see if the same thing happens. If it does, we might go to .5f. She was pretty confident in Paul's monitoring Cinco (Paul is the tech). I was comfortable with that, too. He has been very conscientious about checking him and giving me the readings and times taken.

Everyone was eating their early dinner when I left for bowling. Harvey was already on his second helping. Guess whatever was going on with him this morning is gone. DH had to leave before Cinco and I got home, so I gave the shot. Paws crossed I didn't screw it up this time!:rolleyes:

Working on garlic pretzel bites - Yum! :) BBL.

Great to hear that they're willing to keep an extra close eye on him so you don't have to fall back to .5 just to be safe!! As scary as it was for you today, it sure was nice seeing Cinco back in the lagoon!!!

Much better than those stinky pinkies! (hint hint Cinco)

Thanks for doing lagoon duty today for me buddy!....but what's with all this trampoline action tonight? Head on down to the shore and help with the BBQ at least! ~ China

Thanks for visiting, Chris and Suki.

Hmmm. Now I'm thinking I should have retested him at PS. Maybe that wasn't a good test? If it was good, he's in for another bounce!

China, I's here to help! You know I can't resist a request from you! - Cinco

Good job messing with the bean today Cinco!

It's great that the team at UCD will support you giving the higher dose to keep him in better numbers. And if he bounces tomorrow, he'll be safe.

Cinco, Cinco, Cinco how about you find some medium ground. What's that you say - you feel like you'd be letting the family down if you weren't adding a little more of your own personal chaos. I guess that's fair comment but just keep it safe ok, a LITTLE bounce tomorrow would be just fine.

Ah, Cinco...always gotta keep it interesting, don't you? It's great that you have someone who is actually monitoring him at UCD so you can shoot with confidence. Awesome report from the oncologist!!

Cinco, Cinco, Cinco! Whatcha doing? Good thing the bean had some pretzel thingies to calm her nerves after your escapade yesterday.

Moderation, mister. Moderation. Got that.

Still, gotta like the oncologist report. And have tons of confidence in his medical team at UCD.

Vines for a more middle of the road day today.
