A perfect yesterday put a little too much spring in her step this morning.

Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...amps-80-3-56-5-74-pmps-88-2-59-3-5-74.145071/

Taking ChrisFarley to the vet today. We just had him in for a wellness exam, but I am getting concerned about his appetite. We have him on a diet and he just cannot lose weight. But his appetite is beyond crazy. We have to literally hold him down while the other cats finish their food. He wolfs food off their plates in a crazed manner. NOTHING can satisfy him. I see him at the water dish more too. I think its time to check bloodwork, thyroid. His BGs seem to be holding. I will find him in the low 100s around breakfast time, but a little while later after he's eaten he hits the 70s so his pancreas is definitely firing. I feel so terrible to see him think he is so starving.

Lots of vines for ChrisFarley. Hope it's a simple fix!

Deandra...you've got a tradition to uphold, you know. Keep going for those nice green numbers.

Nice recovery out of lil D :D

Waiting on blood work on Chris. His lack of weight loss seems to indicate its probably not thyroid. Vet believes his calories are too low despite him not losing any weight (actually gaining) after being on this calorie level for a while. We've systematically reduced from when he was gaining at 350ish calories to 180-200cal per day (plus steals of 20-60cals). She says his maintenance should be 500, dieting should be something like 380. That seems pretty high to me. He will be happy to get more food. I ordered a couple of his favorite wand toys last week. He tends to eat the mouse off of the end so we haven't had them for a while. Might need to harness him up and get him out jogging with mom.

Chris's blood work was all good so we are just feeding him more and the vet is going to consult with a dietitian about how we get him to lose weight/not gain weight. Not really interested in veterinary dietitian opinions usually because it often involves prescription diet food and I just don't have the energy for that argument.

What kind of bugs me is I talked about all of this when we had him in for his wellness exam and shots last month. She was fine with how we were feeding him. Just must have not been listening to that part of the conversation.

Deandra's propensity to drop to low 50s so much at night has softened my balls of steel. She's been dropping through the day into PMPS so I only gave 0.25U.
