I know @Beenie just checked in to see what Jenks was going to do, so here we go:

Jenks sure didn't reveal his plans until the last minute. He spent the last half of the cycle in the low 50s, but finally came up nicely in that final hour. We're starting the day with a really nice number! :D

I'm beat. His left ear was being really stubborn last night. I don't know what I was doing wrong, but every time I'd get a bead going, it would instantly wick away into the hair which led to me using twice as many strips as tests because of insufficient blood sample errors. Arg! Thankfully today is a right ear day, and that one bleeds so much easier than the left.

Happy Labor Day to everyone and their kitties. May managing diabetes today require little to no labor at all :cat:

Nice start for Jenks. I hope he keeps surfing safely. Sorry you had so much trouble with getting blood drops.

Ugh, stubborn numbers today.

The 46 at +4 wasn't a huge concern. My goal was to feed it and check back later. Except Jenks didn't want to eat any fuds. Wonderful. So I broke out some gravy (without karo) and offered him that instead.

Couple hours later, and he's a whole 2 points higher. Whoop dee doo. Cracked another can of food. I don't want no fuds. Tried some dry treats instead.

Another two hours later, another two points higher. With PMPS approaching, and both Jenks and his numbers being ornery, I broke down and gave him gravy with karo, which will most likely push him toward 100. Nothing else was working, and I couldn't let him roll into the night cycle on a borderline number. I'm just too tired.

This is our 6th cycle at 9.5U. This AM cycle convinced me to try a reducie to 9.25U tonight. He's had great numbers this entire time, so I don't know why that would change.

I'm sorry, I can't offer any suggestions :(, but can see you are exhausted :bighug: hope Jenks gets up to some comfortable numbers for you, those lows would freak me out.

Thanks @Christie & Maverick!

The lows freaked me out in the beginning too and led to some really funny stories. But with time and data, I learned Jenks' patterns and responses and grew comfortable identifying what was cause for concern, what simply needed monitoring, and what wasn't too big of a deal. You and Maverick will get to that point too :cat:

He's 100 at PMPS, pretty much as predicted. Funny how he waits until the end of the cycle to respond to gravy. (Not really funny).

I ended up dropping the dose to 9.25U. Let's see what he can do :cat:

Oh come on, can't we get a number that's NOT the 40s???? Maybe I need to consider cutting him to 9.0U in the morning....
