My hand is raised. And a lot of us have done it. We can only juggle so much. Since Bubba and his GI upset, I have only dosed poor Forrest once a day for his Tresaderm for his ears. (it's supposed to be 2 X /day)

It's so easy to do that. At least you realized it pretty quickly. I once found a syringe full of insulin the next day and wasn't sure if I missed the AM or PM shot.

Raise your hand if you've been there done that

:stop:

Hope you're able to get back on track without missing much of a beat! :cat:

Oh, gee. I would have panicked.
Thanks for the empathy to you, and everyone else who shared their mishaps.

Thank you. It is so difficult, because much of it has become routine, and I hardly think - especially in AMPS. I don't believe I'd had my morning coffee, and, well, my IQ is about 75 points before that.

Guilty and guilty. DH did it more than once, too. Congratulations, you're human!

TiTi, don't let a little thing like a missed shot mess with you - head for the beach!

Nodding in agreement. Haven't forgot to shoot (yet) but have forgotten to test before feeding/shooting. I often question if I added his supplements.

:bighug:

I haven't forgotten to shoot - yet! But I've come close to forgetting to test. And I left her brand, spanking new vial of insulin on (instead of IN) the fridge for three plus hours...sigh...big sigh...:banghead:

I swear the anesthesia with my last surgery fried my remaining brain cells, so now I write everything down in her designated notebook straight away, especially with her meds. I even have a different location for things: meds location before giving it; meds location after giving them. At this point, if I hadn't started that system years ago with her Phenobarbitone I would have probably overdosed her many times over by now... It is so easy to forget, isn't it, from just one moment to the next? Did I or didn't I? It's enough to drive you mad...:banghead: :p

Yes it is!

I've read about a phenomena that is probably in play for me.
If you image yourself doing a certain task, your mind sometimes processes the image as an accomplished fact. Thus you are certain you did it, even though all you did was picture yourself doing it.
I bet this is particularly common for repetitive daily tasks.

Very true! I used to be a zookeeper and had to go look at all the locks on the outside cages 3 times before letting the big cats out, even if I know I did lock them.

Well, this is a much nicer explanation than "anesthesia fried my brain!" Makes logical sense, too... :p:D

I also do this with "Did I turn off the stove? Did I lock the door before I left?" Sigh...

It's a great thread! And good to hear that all of us are human and mess up. It's so good to be able to laugh at it rather than beat ourselves up, eh? :p:D
