I think I've finally found the correct dose for my boy, Max. We are getting pretty good numbers PMPS but then he's back into the 300's in the AM. I don't understand why this is happening. It seems he should be around 200 in the AM. I'm afraid if I increase his dose anymore, his mid-cycle numbers will be too low. Thoughts? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jKgMMpqRRdkidAOftTLmNcnkHl8Cduf5ONKQ_3R51cI/edit?usp=sharing
It's quite possible that he's going too low at night. Would it be possible for you to get a +3 or +4 before you go to sleep? It's also likely that lowering the dose on the PM numbers is just not giving Max enough insulin to keep his numbers down until morning. The only way to tell the difference is getting some more nighttime data -- which I completely understand is hard to do! And sleep is important as well - so it's trying to figure out how to get something in that cycle that can give us a hint.
I was also suspicious that maybe he was going too low and that I was seeing a bounce in the AM, so I experimented tonight by giving him only 2u. I'll try to get some more PM numbers over the next few days.
