AMPS 429, space mission? I don’t know why she likes to do that. Not exactly the number I wanted to bring her to the vet with, but oh well! :p I don’t know why this epic bounce, I tried to get ahead of her drop last night and gave her Karo at +4, overdid it, still having Lantus reactions to some of these numbers. I don’t know if she would have bounced or I halted her cycle.

They did blood work, should be in tomorrow, I got the T4 but vet is confident that with her eating a lot and weighing what she does, thyroid shouldn’t be an issue. Still nice to have it since she hasn’t had one since September. She thinks the enthusiastic eating could be a sign the antibiotics have done a good job with the kidney infection. She was not exhibiting pain when vet was feeling her kidneys, yay!!!

Did another urine, not going to culture it. It was very dilute, not awesome, but she sure isn’t dehydrated! Her number was also really high, so that didn’t help. Not an ideal urine specimen to be sure.

I don’t know what’s changed, but she is staying hydrated largely on her own, I’ve only given her 50 mL on some days and skipped other days because her scruff is bouncing back right away, just like with civvie Toki. So that’s pretty cool!

Vet was in agreement that nothing to lose with trying the canna pet and was enthusiastic that I’m trying it and interested to know how it goes and if it seems to help her any. Discussed teeth again, she said no matter what they give, it would wreck her kidneys and really bad idea to consider surgery. Will consider pulse antibiotics in the future.

Come down now, Asia, nothing to see way up there!

Pretty good lab report for Miss Asia! It is a bummer about the teeth, but what can you do? At least there's still that antibiotics option on the table, so there may be something that can help.

And yes, time to come down now, Asia! Getting in your rocketship didn't get you out of the vet appointment, and now there's absolutely no reason to stay in it, come in for a landing.

Congrats, Asia, on a good vetty visit. It sounds promising, Stacy, especially the part about her staying hydrated on her own. Will be interested in how Asia does on the Canna Pet. Is that the official [brand] name of it? What does CBD stand for?

Have a good weekend.

Yes, staying hydrated on her own is huge! I sure hope it continues. I've been making her food such a soup that she has to drink a lot to get to the good stuff. It only works because she's been a piggy recently. If that weren't happening and it was too much water, she would just walk away from it.

I think canna pet is the brand name of the one I'm using, CBD stands for "Cannabidiol". It's related to marijuana somehow, but I think it's a different plant or different part of the plant? I haven't spent too much time looking in to it and it's not high on my list to do so. I know a lot of people here use it with success and I had a phone consult with the company (a vet tech), so I'm happy to try it on her. It does not have the same effect as marijuana but there are other elements of the plant that have health benefits. Because it is related to marijuana, it is somewhat controversial and political. I was surprised my vet was all for it, happy, but surprised. Hope it arrives this week. :cat:

Great news from the vetty visit! :bighug::cat:

I have used the CannaPet, I really like it, it definitely made a difference. The only drawback for me is it's a pill, and pilling Squallie is NOT fun. He's an awesome patient, but he draws the line at taking pills, lol.

Yay on a good vet visit! That's awesome! It sounds like Miss Asia is right on track... I am very excited about this canna thing for you both... I am trying to do some research into it and I think it will be good... Good day today! :bighug::bighug:

I can't pill Asia easily either, I was planning on sprinkling it in her food and hope she eats it. What differences did you notice and how soon?

The vet tech said it is in the catnip family or maybe tastes like catnip? Something like that, so maybe it won't be gross to her.
