NOTE: Moving this thread to the Lantus forum.

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Cherie and my little orange man is Baby Twink.
Well, not so little at 14 lbs! He was diagnosed as diabetic with
    a BG of 598 on 1/27/17.

Our vet prescribed 2 units of Lantus BID and told us to come back in
two weeks for testing. Of course, I wasn't comfortable giving the insulin
without getting a glucose meter and so I purchased the AlphaTrak2.

Also, I should mention we ONLY gave him 1 unit BID, NOT 2 units, of Lantus
and started him on the Pet Wellbeing product, Blood Sugar Gold this past
    Friday (2/3).

Initially, we changed his diet over to DM dry food mixed with his old dry food
and gradually changed over to canned Fancy Feast Classic Chicken with only
1 tablespoon of the DM twice a day for nibbling. After a week of fluctuating
numbers starting in the low 500's, there was a drop to mid 400's with this
morning being our lowest reading to date in the mid 300's --- and tonight
    it was 119!

After seeing this 119 reading, we did NOT give him any insulin, however, he
did get his drops of Blood Sugar Gold.

Any suggestions or feedback is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Repay this in the lantus forum so folks experienced with it can see this and advise. Good job home testing!
