I tested before feeding and she's 447. She's now been fed. Do I wait and test again and then give insulin? Or should I give now!!

    She's on 2 units ProZinc twice/day.

if it's been 12 hours since the last shot, go ahead and shoot.

if it's been less than 12 hours and you are reacting to the 447 & wanting to shoot, take a breath and relax until it has been 12 hours :D i know, easier said than done

by the way, congratulations on getting blood!!!!!

When is the last time you gave insulin? If you are at +10 or greater from the previous shot, then I would go ahead an shoot.

Thanks Kelly and Cindy. You're right Cindy - I was reacting. (What can I say, I'm a mom and it's what we do). Anyway, I waited another 20 minutes, and yes - it was tough! nailbite_smile

You should have seen the number of tries - less than 100, but not by much! I kept missing her ear and the lancet went into the paper towel. Not sure where I got that tip, but it saved my fingers
