I am in a rush to get on the road. It's a Phoenix weekend. I will be back this evening, and so if there is a party, I will see it then.

I don't know if a party is in order. Chase's numbers have been elevated in the last few days. They go down after eating, but this is confusing to me. Why now.... why at the end of the OTJ trial.

Please experts... please let me know. He is at 124 this morning. Does he need to go back on insulin? I will do anything to keep him safe.:cat:

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday.

They're within 20% meter variance. If they go down after eating, that's a sign that his pancreas is working - ie., putting out insulin in response to a meal. Let's see what the experts think.

Sandi, as long as he is coming down after his food that's OK.

George still gives me numbers like that periodically, often it's when he doesn't get his +9 snack, and sometimes it's for no reason that I can fathom at all, other than he is just being a cat.

Have you changed any food choices for him?
Gxx

As long as Chase is bringing his numbers back down he should be fine. Sometimes they just give a higher number. If they are feeling off in any way or just being a cat.

On the PM number of Furball's last day of her OTJ trial, she gave me a 147. When I tested a couple of hours later she gave me a 209. I didn't get a green until the next day. She's been OTJ for almost a year and a half now.

Congratulations on all your hard work getting Chase OTJ.

Congrats!!! Try not to worry but I would definitely still be giving the “+9" snacks a.m. and p.m. In other words, three hours before you do his morning and evening tests, I’d be sure he gets a snack.

Remember that now he’s OTJ, you don’t have to test at regular times but if you want to do it a few more days with a snack three hours before, you can. Then just try to vary when you test him once a day to be sure he’s in green. When you are seeing that happen, you can eventually go to once a week, if you like, and then once a month. I was always pretty sure that if Gracie ever went OTJ, I’d test weekly but a lot of members test monthly after a while.

Have a great Easter and a great trip to Phx.

Just reinforcing what others have said - as long as he brings his BG down after eating, no need to worry.

Happy Easter and Congratulations on Day 14!!!!

Chase got his +9 snack last night, but he threw it up this morning... not long before I tested him. Anytime he vomits, his number is higher. :(

So then I guess I need to keep testing him daily if his number is blue. The only thing is.... I can't test him 3 hrs after he eats in the a.m. on a weekday. I'll be at work.

I just got home and so Chase didn't get his +9 today. His BG was 120. I don't have a good feeling about this, I don't know why. Blue's are becoming consistent, now. Even if he goes down 3 hrs after he eats, isn't the blue not good if it's all the time?

On days you work, if he's blue in the morning, just feed as you normally do and test him when you get home. If he's blue, feed and test three hours later. Let's just watch him closely. If he doesn't come down after three hours or if he starts to see higher blue numbers, we might need to go to Plan B.

But...I think there is great value in feeding +9 meals and testing three hours later. Right now, he's still staying in normal numbers.

Ok. I am doing the +9s. :) I don't remember what plan B was. :nailbiting:
