Mandarin has been OTJ since December 2014. His numbers have been great, especially since he had a much needed dental with 6 extractions. However, he is starting to not want to eat Friskies or Fancy Feast Classics anymore. One food that he does like is Drs. Foster and Smith’s canned food (Savory Salmon, Shrimp & Brown Rice – it’s a Pate style food). However, it’s not included in the food list and I am not sure how to read the ingredients. The website lists values on the “as fed basis” (which has only 4.56% carbs) and on the dry matter basis (which would be 16.84% carbs and thus clearly too high). Does anyone know which number I should look at?

The information is available at: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3261 28590 15667&pcatid=15667

Check it with this online calculator, then using the calories given, divide the calories from carbohydrate by the total calories to get the percent of calories from carbohydrate.
