Hi, I am asking for my friend Andreea and her cat.
The cât receive sub fluids, but for this time the fluid did not absorbed all, the area is hurting and the cât is grumpy.
    How bad it is?
Thank you a lot for your advice,

My cat was having very heavy bump under her skin for several hours after we administered it - sometimes for the entire day. The sicker she was the longer it took to absorb. The bump from 100 ml was so heavy and hanged on her side that she almost tripped over. She was grumpy for hours.

11 hours ago. The area with the fluide is visible and the cât can not stand to be touched there.

I am afraid it means Emergency clinic visit - or at least a call to discuss.
Do you have ER at your place?

Do not give any more fluids until the bump has dissipated and until the cat has been re-assessed by a vet. Giving more fluid can cause hypertension and also lead to congestive heart failure.

Why is the cat getting fluids? How much does it weigh? How much fluid was given? The general rule (which can go out the window depending on the condition) is 10 ml per pound.

The cat was already saw by a doctor, like an ER (saying that could go to an infection, wanted to test him) but tomorrow will be see by his usually doctor.
Could this go to an infection?

But he does have an appetite?
Refusing food might be a worrying sign.

For keeping urea and creatinine in a good range (urea slightly over the limit) and for a good hidratation.

I suggest you read the links provided above. If normal values (according to the lab reports) are being held by the cat, I would question the vet about the need for subq fluids at this time.

    That is good!
Even if it an infection - it could be if not sterile needle was used - the antibiotic will clear it.
If he has an appetite/urinates/grooms I think you 'll keep watching over him and get to the vet tomorrow as soon as possible.

I am not an expert but my cat had lesser weight and was receiving larger SQF dose. I hope this will turn out all right for Tilica.

If he was scratched by a needle because as you said he would not stay calm then vet would be able to address that too. It can explain why he cannot be touched at that area.

How is his breathing - does it appear faster than usual? Does it appear labored or normal?

I agree with that 100%. Extra fluids can lead to serious heart problems.

Tomorrow he will be seen by his vet.
He already went to a vet, breathing checked.
Thank you for all the information

Any time you pierce the skin with a needle there's a chance of infection. If the area is hot and very sensitive that could be a sign of infection.

Dre gets fluids daily and no discomfort but I think when we first started he felt odd but not grumpy.
Many have different views on when to start fluids, my vet and myself prefer to slow the progression whereas others say to wait.
It is not uncommon for the fluid to hang due to gravity but as Kris said do not give more until this is absorbed as the heart could become overwhelmed and cause fluid linger around it.

Glad you see your vet tomorrow :)
