Hey y'all, I have been meaning to post this for weeks and kept forgetting. Halo is no longer making the Cloud Nine salve that many of us are using on our kitties ears. It was not a big seller. I asked them to reconsider and was told that my request would be taking to their developing team. So, stock up from your sources that you purchased from because when those vendors inventory is gone, it's gone. Bummer.
Boo! I love this stuff! I guess part of the problem is that you don't need much of it at a time. A little bit goes a long way so that small jar lasts for what seems like forever! It's never purchased often... not a number one seller. I'm sorry it'll be discontinued. Heck, I've even used it on my grandkids because it doesn't sting or burn when put on their scrapes and cuts! FYI: If you keep it in the fridge it lasts longer. Thanks for letting us know, Bobbie!
That is my understanding also. Let's all bombard Ellen, LOL The way I found out was because I dropped a jar and the lid cracked. Rather than keeping in taped up, I thought I'd call the company and ask if I could just buy a lid and then they told me the bad news. Luckily, I have another jar in my closet. I too, use it on myself, and my mom! It is great stuff and I am glad you had mentioned it on my thread when Bubba's ears were all inflamed.
I wish I could find something other than polysporin to use on Boomer's ear.....he will only let me test the one ear and I know that one is bothering him. Polysporin doesn't seem to help anymore. And I've looked for the Halo around here but cannot find it.
I think if Ellen heard about being used for diabetic pets to soothe testing spots, since there is a need which the company may not even know it is being used for, might help? If any way to get request directly to Ellen may help, she loves animals. I checked several sources, Amazon, Petco, Petsmatrrt, Chewy and none have, looks like jet.com recommended by Bellasmom may be the best bet. I hate to pay for shipping, but it sounds like a good product.
@Judy and Boomer , like Bella's mom said, Jet.com has some. I just order one. I will get it Wednesday. The total was 9.61 and they waived the shipping for me. Yeah. If you send me your address in a PM, on Monday, I will put my extra jar that is in my closet in the mail to you. ETA: they don't ship anywhere but the US; I checked for you.
I ordered it on the phone and the gal who helped me said that since this was my first time ordering with them, she was going to waive the shipping. Wasn't that nice?
Thank you Bobbie, that salve is wonderful stuff. I didn't anticipate that it wouldn't be available, and it does last a long time. I'm going to start keeping it in the fridge, especially with spring here now, and summer approaching. I want to keep it as effective as possible.
We survived winter, but it was a bit iffy there for awhile. Idjit is fine. He went to the vet yesterday because he has some discoloration in the iris in one eye. We wanted to check it out. It's only Iris Melanosis, a change in the pigmentation, so he is ok. But we are going to keep a close eye and be monitoring. He's still the king of the kingdom, as it should be.
Good idea to have it monitored often. If it starts to spread and becomes raised looking or velvety, have him checked by a vet ophthalmologist.
I will Bobbie, I wasn't sure what we were dealing with. I asked for the most experienced vet in the practice for the exam, and we will be diligent about noting any changes, and getting him to a vet ophthalmologist. We are back to being helicopter parents, staring into his eyes from many angles. I think he thinks we just adore him.
Jet is now out of stock, you guys must have bought them out, lol If enough people contact manufacturer, they may consider not discontinuing, worth a shot? I agree! I all ready told them that lots of peeps on this forum rely on their product. Let's all flood them with emails and requests.
Julie, if you need a jar, I will send you the jar I receive from Jet.com. I have enough in my present jar to last a long time. Let me know if you want it, and I will send it to you.
I don’t want to take it if you will need it eventually. I have been using the Walmart brand antibiotic ointment, but her ears are still beat up. I am thinking of switching to thinner gauge lancets, maybe that would help. Is the Halo stuff much better than regular ointment? Some kind of miracle healing?
I think it is great stuff. I have a jar 3/4 full which will probably last me way into next year. I will gladly send it if want it. Send me your address in a PM.
