Tucker has been trying to get out a hair ball. He tried Sat and Sun mornings but nothing came up.

He's eating, drinking and passing everything fine right now, but years ago has needed surgery when he gets blocked, but I need to avoid that now, he's not well enough for that.

I gave him a few strands of hairball remedy the past three days, but how much is the correct amount? He's feeling cruddy, I can tell by his numbers which are not up to date right now on his spreadsheet.

He's about 16 pounds, and I'm not so concerned with the hairball remedy raising his BGs, I just want to help him pass this. Any ideas on how much to give him?

Most hairball tubes have instructions written on them.

Mine says 1-1/4" ribbon (1tsp) once daily.

I actually only give it every 3-4 days, to prevent hairball buildup.

I would say daily until symptoms are gone...up to a point.

If symptoms don't improve in a reasonable time (1 wk),,,then off to the vet.

Too much hairball remedy....especially ones containing petrolatum (petroleum jelly), can
interfere with the absorption of B-Vitamins in the gut.
