Den's ketone results are inconclusive (the result color does not match to either "negative" or "trace" so I will keep testing). My question is for preparedness only:

*IF* he gets trace ketones what is the protocol? Can we get rid of ketones at home or does it require an immediate trip to the vet? I know any result higher than "trace" is an emergency so my question only pertains to getting a result of "trace".

One can treat trace ketone at home by making sure the cat is eating and lowering BG but better control with insulin. SubQ fluids is also recommened
