Wolfie went to vets today for goopy eyes...... and she found a lump in his mesenteric area.

tying not to get freaked out ( Hah. fat chance) as it could be nothing. hoping.
he had an u/s in Dec. and had a full check w/ his vet end of march, so this hasn't been there long.
she said it could just be an inflammatory response to his CP or fatty tumor .
He has lost more wt. , but his eating is not great b/c of other ongoing issues. ( he will be 19 next month)

They did full chem panel, cbc, t4 and checked his BP . bw back monday. BP was ok. ( he is on amlodipine )
so....... plan is to take him to get u/s w/ possible aspirate. I called when I got home and left message for im specialist. They don't have hours today, but I wanted them to call first thing monday.
our vet will go ahead and fax report and bw to her.

    worry worry worry.

Please send some prayers and good vibes for Wolfie. Thanks !

Hi Cheryl, You can relax....please. These things so very often turn out to be either inflammation or fatty tissue.
3 months ago i had a pt/ct and they found a lit up lymph node in my neck (former lymphoma patient I) also my blood work was'nt looking to promising. So I freaked out for a couple of months agonizing over whether or not I would do chemo again...and 3 months later we did another pt/ct and altho it's still there my dr.s have decided it's scar tissue.
LOVELY! They did'nt even suggest that at first!
Thank you for pm-ing me as i'm not on community too much, I will be sending love and peace your way...and tom has been asked to do the same.
He's good btw, I'm getting ready to post in pzi about his latest prank on me.
Your remain one of our angels,
    Lori
    and tomtom too!

    Cheryl,
Just saw this. Hoping you get some good BW results for Wolfie today. I know how scary these darn lumps can be.... just went thru it with Flamie.
Adding my prayers and keeping all paws crossed that it is nothing serious. Will look for an update from you.

    small update 5/24

    very frustrated.
left message at specialists over the weekend, so the could call first thing -- and they did.
but they are booked solid and first they can get me in is june 2. cat(2)_steam

I talked to the tech and she is going to try and get us in sooner. but have not heard anything.
I need to call our vet back and see if we should see if we can get into another im spec.
just that she did wolfies' last u/s in dec. so thinking it would be better to go the same.
    that's almost 2 weeks wait.

got really muggy here, so not sure if he is lethargic cause he isn't feeling good or hot.

got hit by massive cold this am -- lost my voice. am whispering. so hopefully will be able to talk or whisper to Wolf's vet in am to see what she thinks is best.

thanks for good wishes for Wolfie. please keep 'em coming !

((Cheryl)) ((Wolfie)) I'm just seeing this also - wow - waiting until June 2 is the worst part - days drag by when you're anticipating and wondering. I'm sending many many "fatty tumor" vibes your way. Mittsi has had those off and on her entire life - they come and go - and aspiration has always shown them to be fatty (thank goodness). I'm hoping this is what the vet finds with Wolfie.

Cheryl, you can ask them if you can drop your kitty off in the morning and pick up after work. This will allow them to squeeze in the ultrasound without a firm appt. You may have to pay a "day boarding" fee or some such, and you probably won't get to talk to the IM when you pick up (probably will call you on the phone right after the u/s, or that evening), but you get your cat seen and get the ball rolling (if one needs to roll).

    Do keep us posted.

Good luck, I hope it's nothing. Waiting is so hard, makes you go a little crazy! Just try your best to relax and stay positive.
