    http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/carpal-hyperextension-from-diabetes.221943/

I know I should bring her into the vet soon to have it checked. She seems weak when she walks- her legs seem wobbly. and I also don’t want the vet giving me grief about how I’m treating her diabetes (because they told me to feed her twice a day and not to test her..) I need to find a more educated vet. I also have gotten $&** for feeding them a raw diet.

I know Amanda mentioned her baby had something similar- has anyone else?

I believe she does have this hyper extension..
Limping or inability to bear weight on limb Unwillingness to jump or climb Swelling of carpal joint Characteristic heel touching ground stance
It’s all four legs too- not just one.. :(
it’s happening a lot more in her back legs now... she walks as much as she can and then sits. It’s like she can’t stand for very long...

Rosa that sounds very like diabetic neuropathy to me. A lot of FD cats get it.
The treatment is getting the cat back into good numbers and giving them Methy B 12 tablets.
The vet does not have these tablets and in my experience, don't know much about it.
You can buy the Methyl B 12 sold as Zobaline from lifelink.com
The tablets are tasteless and will crumble into the food easily and are not hard to administer at all.
Sheba had it very badly and recovered fully.

I agree with Bron. I would give her the Zobaline.

Just an FYI... Methyl-B12 is not a medication. It's a vitamin.

Got it! Is there a medication that’s commonly used for it?

Not that I'm aware of. Most people use some form of methylcobalamin. As a cat spends more time informal numbers along with the methylcobalamin, you'll typically see the neuropathy resolve. It does take time, though.

Someone posted in the last few days about how much progress their cat made. I can't seem to find the post, though.

    Found it: Orlando's condo
