She has had her face in the water glass TWICE this morning. Would not think to drink from the cat bowl. But, she only does this when she really spikes. Sad to see frankly. But, we tip the glass for her to drink as a dainty lady from our glass.

I saw your comment from yesterday about the Rescue Remedy. Cats need different amounts of it to "work". A good place to start is putting it on the paws, but if that's not calming her down, and it doesn't sound like it's quite enough to work, try putting some directly in her food. Since she's got a good appetite it should be no problem. Mine didn't seem to notice any taste from it - or if there is any, they liked it fine. I'd try putting one bite of food down with the rescue remedy in it, then when that's eaten give the rest. One of my friends piles the food up in a little mountain and puts the drops on the peak, assuming the cat will eat that first.

You could try one drop first and if that doesn't keep her from becoming aggressive with your other kitty, try it next time with 2 drops. I think I mentioned yesterday that punkin took a full dropperful - about 4-6 drops, if I remember correctly. Anya zonked out with 1 drop - she's a small female about 7 or 8lbs. Punkin weighed about 13-14lbs. It's safe to give them and it might really help with your move.

After Punkin died we got 2 male kittens. One of them is especially aggressive with Anya and is always after her. I've given both her and him RR for a couple of weeks at a time, every day, to try to help them adjust. It's really helpful.

Good luck!

I put RR in Snick's food, two drops in the morning and two drops at night at her t/f/s times. She gets hers everyday because she may possible have feline hyperesthesia and has anxieties from it, It does help her. We inadvertently stopped when my mom got sick because we were dashing around so much but I noticed Snick's behavior and made sure we were getting that back in her food.

Thanks, today is pretty hectic with a mover giving an estimate and then the realtor coming for pictures and things are not where they belong @ the moment. We are all a little on the chandelier. But, she is better since she came down from over 600. We all look forward to our nap sometime today after we find our stuff again that is bursting in the closets! Just learned I have lots more packing! What is with them having you pack your filing cabinets and not wanting stuff in your dressers. I bit much! Will see if a 2nd company is more helpful. Have a good one!

Good to know. I will be using it more. They both are good @ the moment but I learned this move will be a good 8 hours from start to drop. I never dreamed of that with 4 men working. Not too happy with the girls trying to hold out that long. But, we will all survive.

I had never heard of that medical condition. I have been scratching my head to understand why the 2nd cat has always (since adoption) torn at her flank to the point of hair gone in chunks. I thought it was an allergy, as she sometimes sneezes with certain scents from cleaning. Then I thought it was just stress of Mocha being afraid of her. But, the behavior never stopped. I have told the vet and he just says it is behavior and she may benefit from medication (Elavil) but likely not (so just let it go). If you are telling me that Snick improved than I want to give it to Latte for sure daily to get her relief. Did Snick tear at the hair too?

I'd look into a food allergy for the food/skin biting issue. We had a dog that chewed holes in her skin, pulling out her hair at the same time. The vet said it was likely allergy to fleas, but nothing helped her. I was talking with a locally owned pet food store clerk about it (after many years of her enduring it and wearing a lampshade) and she suggested a hypoallergenic food. Skin cleared up immediately and the issues never returned.

There is some great logic about cats and irritable bowel/skin allergies on www.catnutrition.org. I thought she makes some very good sense about how we deal with cats and their medical issues.

I forgot to mention the food allergy as well. I know she has issues with FISH dry or wet. Can't have even a bite of tuna despite wanting it horribly. But, there must be something undetected. I did switch to a sensitive stomach by Purina, as they thought it helped these issues....it did not. She is back to a no grain dry chicken for the time being. I will check that site out. Thanks. It does seem to have some behavior nerves with it but also something else.

She never tore at her hair but I believe it is a symptom of hyperesthesia. I do plan on taking her to a vet when things settle down around here. The RR helps her but she still twitches and still has some anxieties, but no aggression yet (except her normal aggression she has had since birth, lol)

I hope your mom is doing well. I can't keep up with the posts with my health issues and trying to move. Just learned the movers want me to pack far more boxes than I thought (file cabinets! argh!) Take care.

Thank you! You take care of yourself, too!
