Marshmellow acting her normal self this AM. Dose increase at PMPS last evening. Monitored until 1 AM overnight, then she hid and as much as I chased her I was unable to test again. Low AMPS (it appears to have dropped all night, so I am holding dose. She ate well last night but not her normal amount, same thing this AM, she ate between 1/2 and 3/4 of what she would normally eat.

She is peeing OK, I will try to get urine keytones and sugar today, will watch for BM also. She does appear to be acting normal, I am assuming the low (normal) number this AM is d/t prior bounce. As I am typing this, she still goes back and is eating a little on and off. My question is this, since she is spending more time in lower numbers, could it affect her appetite so she is not as ravenous as she used to be?

As I stated, I will hold this dose, I will recheck at 7 and see how she is doing. Than you, and I hope everyone has a nice day and safe surfing to all the kitties.

Furball doesn't eat as much when she stays in lower numbers as she did when she was in higher numbers. I've read others have seen this with their cats too. I think the cat's body processes the food better when they are in more normal numbers and they don't need as much. When they're higher, they are eating, but still hungry because the food doesn't satisfy their hunger. I hope this makes sense.

I hope Marshmellow keeps surfing for you today.

Thank you, as I stated, I will not shoot this AM. I know it will probably throw her numbers off. I hope she doesn't get ridiculously high, will resume at the new dose again tonight.

I read that wrong. If you're not shooting, you should change AMPS to AMBG so it's easy to see you didn't shoot. I hope she doesn't go too high today, but if she does, she'll get back on track soon.

What Carla said is correct...with normal BGs, the body processes food better and therefore the ravenous appy should calm down.

If/since your are following SLGS, that 64 this morning actually does mean a dose reduction is in order, even though you only shot one dose of the 2.50. It looks Marshmellow broke a bounce from the blues she hit on 5/19, so that coupled with the increase brought her down to those pretty greens. It's up to you, though...you actually do test enough to give TR a whirl, too, in which case you would maintain the increased dose.

Others may offer other opinions, so I would weigh all the options throughout the day. Have a great one, Steve and Janelle!

Morning Steve :coffee::coffee::coffee:

FWIW, I agree with the others, What a nice AMBG! Surf well today Marshmellow. I think it was a good call not to shoot this morning, you ave to be comfortable with what you are doing. I too would hole the dose. Good luck!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Way to work that juice Marshmellow. It will be interesting to see what happens with the skipped shot. Of course there's always the chance of another bounce from all that green in which case we won't know. I went back and forth on whether to follow TR when I started. If at all possible I think it is the best chance for remission but cats do go into remission on SLGS too.

Of course there's always the chance of another bounce

I don't know how you can tell if a bounce or the lack of her AM insulin.

I think it was a good call not to shoot this morning, you ave to be comfortable with what you are doing.

I was afraid that because she dropped all night, whether or not from a bounce, she was too low to shoot this AM. I had thought about a partial dose, because I know it's not good to get her insulin. Hopefully she won't go too high this PM, I am planning to do an hour early at 5 and work her back to 6 over a day.

I think that's a good opportunity to pick your shot time. Don't worry about the skipped shot. Pretend it's a fur shot and I'm sure she will get back on track quickly.
