Hello all. I have just gotten home from work and posted the lastest figures on Fatty.....whats going on??? He ate a small can fancy feast this morning and I left another can which he was just finishing when I got home at 3pm.... because he was so low this morning I was going to ask if I needed to change his insulin dose but hes still in the 5's!!! Will be doing a curve tomorrow regardless.

It's really helpful for you to put the link to your previous post into the body of your new one so people can quickly go back and see what's been going on

Here's the link to your previous post

Looks like Fatty is doing really well, that's what's going on!!!

Did you recently change his diet? (when he started getting the better numbers?) If so, we've seen a lot of cats that just needed to go on a low carb canned diet to go into remission.

For now, I'd keep doing what you're doing.....If he's in normal numbers at Pre-shot, don't give any insulin....let's see how long he can stay in these good numbers! (I'd bet that at some point he's going to need at least a little, but maybe not for long!)

Remember, there's a depot that's still effecting his numbers....it can take up to 3 days to drain so his numbers could come back up....but for tonight, give yourself a pat on the back and enjoy the fact that he's doing so great

If you can, in the morning, you might want to test at +11 or +11.5 so if you need some advice in the morning, you have time to get some eyes on your post.

The link! Ok im pretty new at this! He has been on the new food since his numbers were jumping up and down, about 2 weeks? I was getting bad advice (not from this group tho) so couple of days ago i went with 2u trying to stabilize his nunbers. Was told to stay with 2u for 5 days? (Or 7 cant remember!) Was sure his numbers would be up after work....:banghead:

If his numbers go back up what number would you consider ok to dose, and should i still dose the 2u?

Normal is 50-120 on a human meter.....if he gets up around 150 (and you're able to stay home and test), you could go back to 2U since he hasn't "officially" earned a reduction yet (if you're doing TR) or below 90 (again) if you're doing SLGS

If he keeps getting Pre-shots that are too low to shoot, we'll suggest dropping the dose further to 1.75U
