so it’s her 10th cycle on 1.75 and we have a +4 of 41. I fed and will test again in 30 or so. What to do for AM? Does a lime automatically warrant a reduction? This happened in very similar fashion on 2U 12 cycles and we got a lime. The concern is I didn’t see ANY greens on 1.75 so if I reduce I’m afraid I still won’t see green. Need advice for AM please. I hold her doses longer than 6 cycles as she tends to be very sensitive to dose changes and it usually takes her longer to respond. Thank you all so much

Under 50 calls for a reduction. If he fails the reduction can always go back up. Just because it was a failed reduction in the past doesn’t mean it will happen again.

Could you put a note in your signature regarding whether you're following TR or SLGS? In September, Little will officially be diabetic for over a year. This will make a difference with when you give reductions if you're following TR.

A cat is a long term diabetic at the one year mark. If following TR, a reduction is then earned if a cat falls below 50 three times instead of once or any time under 40. It’s in the TR protocol. SLGS is different.

Sometimes people do choose to go with three times under 50 sooner if a cat doesn’t hold reductions and following TR.

The info regarding reducing if numbers are below 40 for a long term diabetic are in the dosing method sticky.

However, I believe the information on the waiting for 3 drops below 50 comes from the original version of the TR protocol from the German Lantus website. There's a link to the website in the sticky.
