Is there a preference for 1/2 in., or short, needles? Is it a personal choice, or doctor's choice?
My vet had to write a script, here in NY state, but I want to buy them online at Hocks. The ones I have don't have 1/2 u. lines.
Does the length matter to delivering the insulin properly into kitty?

It's personal preference. Some people find that 1/2 inch long needles work best for cats that have long hair or there is a lesser chance of a fur shot. Personally, I've used both 5/16 inch and 1/2 inch needles and have neer noticed any difference in bg levels.

Here is a post on the old board with recommened brands of half unit marked insulin syringes: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/r ... 22,1959486 The old board is slow so it may take a few minutes for the page to load.

Thank you. I meant the syringes, of course, don't have 1/2 u. markings.
